I'm an actor---any questions? ;-) If you're interested in me as a film maker, feel free to check out my resume at www.tadatkinson.com. You can find my reel there, or check it out here on MySpace.
For the rest of you, a little about my history which led me to where I live now. I was born in the Chicago area (North Shore--Wilmette, if you want to be specific). I lived in Geneva, Switzerland for 18 months as a very young child, entering Kindergarten in an international school. I spent my elementary school years in a tiny college town in northwestern Illinois called Mt. Carroll, began middle school in Connecticut and then moved to Ft. Wayne, Indiana, where I lived from 1977 through 2004.
My education's a checkered as my life. I squeezed my BA into six years, switching majors from Astrophysics to Accounting to Business Administration and then finally to English. I got my MA in English with a Linguistics minor and had nearly completed a PhD in British Literature with a Composition/Rhetoric minor when I switched career tracks and withdrew my candidacy.
I thought I would be a college professor, but was offered a full-time job at a small private high school as the Director of Drama. My one constant activity in my life has been theatre (I've been acting since age 6), and so it was an offer I could not refuse. When my second divorce came (yes, I've been unsuccessfully married twice), my life was completely destroyed. My sisters in California made me another irrefusable offer, and so out I came to apply my lifelong love and passion in a professional sense.
I've been very fortunate in my acting (I came out here in 2004); one of the projects of which I'm the most proud is My Cousin's Keeper. I worked with the great folks at ADI Effects, which was the greatest thrill I've had out here so far!
Who I'd like to meet: New friends. I left a very tight circle of close friends to move out here, and I miss that. I'm also a major supporter of our military (son of a USN combat vet)--so, any former or serving military, hit me up for a friend add!!! I would be honoured to add you.
