I see many headz out there who love the things in the culture so much that its who they are! Its what they breathe, eat and sleep, ITS THERE WAY OF LIFE!
Yes i am bboy! and yes i love to dance! But my passion exists way deeper than just the dance or the music or even hip hop itself! I may not know who the first bboy was, or who was the first dj to ever scratch on a record, the first mc to spit a wicked rhyme, nor the first person to express themself through grafitti. In fact im clueless about a whole lot about this culture.
THEN...theres those who who LIVED that lifestyle and suddenly gave up because there was NO motivation, or because there local SCENE was so whack or maybe because they thought they wasnt good enough. Ive seen things from those points of views and from how i see things now, its just plain stupid!
A former crewmate once asked me these similar questions
such as "WHY DO I DANCE?" "WHY DO I LOVE HIP HOP SO MUCH?"
"I Dance because i am the dance"-Flearock skill methodz
"hip hop is not just what im about its who i am"-icey ice
Those words explain alot, we all have our own reasons to why we dance or why we love hip hop so much. For me i dont have a reason to why but it is definetly who i am and its defintely a part of me.
BUT...
I DO KNOW WHAT I WANT TO DO...
I want more than just to be able to dance, mc, dj or even graff. I want to throw jams where all the different elements can unite as one. Even if i lose all motivation to dance or even if i cant dance anymore, the dance will still be in me and i want to give back to those who want to learn the art, build the future of the art through the younger generation.
