I membri dei Taif si incontrano scrivendo la musica per il Reading Dinamiche di fiato , progetto iniziato nellinverno 2004 e terminato nel Dicembre del 2005.
Qui i musicisti di attitudine diversa hanno potuto sentire una forte comunione estetica, che nel Dicembre dello stesso anno 2005 li porta a formare lattuale formazione: i Taif ! I mebri: Pietro Rossi, Vittorio Albergamo, Davide Nardone e Claudio Patriarca, musicisti, con diversissime esperienze alle spalle, incominciano a buttare giu idee su idee...: strutture musicali post si incrociano con grooves trip-hop, le voci sono informali, informative funzionali allambience, a volte chillout. La musica viene scritta cercando di spaziare l'universo sonoro disponibile e mai accontentandosi di soluzioni schematiche, peculiarit visibile nelle lunghe code finali.
I musicisti vivono e suonano attualmente a Roma, citta-movente della creativita urbana dei Taif.
