(Once a Taildragger, always a Taildragger!)
Influences

Sounds Like
Taildragger, but otherwise... ZZ Top, Gov't Mule, Zep, Jimi, Stones, you get the picture...
The return of roots rock! Power trio, Taildragger, originally formed from members of Black Cat Bone and Nine Pound Hammer, deals in the kind of stuff that made rock n' roll what it truly is....high-octane, amplified blues. Just when we thought cool rock bands were a thing of the past, Taildragger comes along, whips out some slide guitar, pounding rhythms, soulful southern vocals and tasteful leads to turn that premise on its ear.
An airtight, well-rounded bass technique, matched by none in this musical genre, combined with intricate, thunderous drumming build the foundation for each masterful tune. Vocal stylings that croon with a growling deep southern accent nicely compliment the rhythmic, bluesy guitar work. Intricate finger-picking and ripping solos call to mind the great Billy Gibbons himself who once said, Nothing really ever reaches out and grabs me, but this did!
Collectively, it all comes together to form a familiar sound that is uniquely its own Taildragger. Worthy of playing shows with the likes of Southern Culture on the Skids, Mojo Nixon, Derek Trucks, NRBQ, Storyville (Double Trouble), Shaver, Junior Brown, and many others, Taildragger always delivers an energetic live performance that keep'em comin back for more. Greg Martin (Kentucky Headhunters), who routinely sits in with the band, describes Taildragger as sounding like "the chickens got loose in the hoglot!" Taildraggers songs, spanning the spectrum of rootsy, southern musical influences, feature classic lyrical themes of drinkin', lovin' and losin' put to toe-tappin', knee-slappin', booty-shakin' rock n' roll music. Heres what Daredevil Magazine says about Taildragger: ...It´s a bit of Lynyrd Skynyrd, a bit of Mountain, a touch of country and big piece TAILDRAGGER. It´s blues-soaked-heavy-riff-rockin' stuff... If you like good music, you´re on the right track with Taildragger.
With influences that borrow from all music genres ranging from blues to punk, bluegrass to speed metal, country to jazz, rock-a-billy to you name it, Taildragger is a much welcomed reprieve to today's typical fuzz-distortion-drop-tuning-minor-chord fury. If youre looking for a change, but still want to keep things rocking, this will definitely fit the bill. It's Americana rock n' roll, pure and simple. It sounds good and makes you feel good. What more can you ask for? So, try Taildragger. You're sure to like it.
