For a minute, I played a roll in the starbucksification of western society as a successful retail manager for large corporations. Waking up to an alarm clock 5 times a week, I lost any recognition of genuine thought. The only thing that seemed to make sense (no pun intended) was the money I would receive bi-annually. In a two year span, I stopped acknowledging God and family, but would easily shake the hand of an employer who was giving me what I work so hard for and what I eventually began to live for. In placing overpriced third world garments on people who seek beauty and/or identity in their purchase, my ideas imploded. Mall culture soon became my religion, unconsciously believing that I can one day buy my soul. The making of "I Don't Miss the Lady Eve" is a celebration of release from the mentality of having checks dictate your life. The three year creative process on this album interrupted the punch clock, and reminded me that whatever happens today is God's will.
