the brick shithouse	Feb 16 2009 11:14 PM yeah, i kinda figured there was something weird going on at the polish hall, i played that show and it seemed not right, the kid who booked it looked really worried ahah and i know 5 dollars each isn't gonna pay off the 1,000, but i figure i'll just pay the 1,000 up front and distribute the money made at the door evenly to those who played... as long as each band knows its basically gonna be for little to no money, i would think there wouldn't be a problem and yeah, i know to be truthful with all that kind of stuff, cause like you said, it would only be hurting everything more than it already has been; too many people look down upon the "kids' music" already but i will definitely let you know if i do get something booked, and hopefully you would be able to make it out to the show i can't say i'll be much help financially but i will definitely help promote and shit if you guys get it going again

the brick shithouse	Feb 16 2009 10:33 PM yeah, the thing is theres a place i contacted and whatnot and they charge like 400 or 500 to book the place for about 4 hours... insurance is about the same price, so its about 1,000 for the whole deal, of course that doesn't include paying the bands and food and shit but if i got a few bands to play for free, which some already volunteered locally, charging like 5 bucks to get in and paying the bands money that i got at the door, it'd probably work out alright. obviously bands who only want to play for money would be driven away i guess, but thats why it'd be local. i really just want to have a place for people to play, haha and it almost seems like more of a hassle to have house shows, especially since i wouldn't be able to have them at my house haha...
