Taken Under is a hardcore band based out of middle Tennessee, combining the sounds of hardcore and metal with lyrics that deal with the struggles and trials of everyday life. Determined to stay away from the watered down metalcore & mallcore scenes that have plagued hardcore over the past few years, Taken Under is more concerned with what the music is about than their looks. Taken Under previously released two demos but it wasn't until they recorded their latest release "Silence Your Enemies" that they have captured the sound that truly represent their brutal style of music. After only hearing a few tracks California's High Fidelity records quickly added Taken Under to their roster. Taken Under has shared the stage with many of todays top touring hardcore and metal acts and plans to continue to tour in support of their latest release. Taken Under stands for staying true to your beliefs and never giving in.
Liner notes from OPERATION: Untied Forces Taken Under was originally formed in Clarksville TN which borders on Fort Campbell KY home of the 101st Airborne so we have always had soldiers that would come out and support us at our shows and now during this time of war we feel its our turn too show our support for them. We have friends that are currently fighting in this war and everyone in Taken Under has had family that has served our country. Taken Under is not a political band and when we say we support the troops thats what we mean the men and women in the trenches fighting, not the politicians that put us in this mess. We as band do not support the Bush administration or any other political party for that matter. No words or songs could ever express our appreciation for the sacrifice and the blood that has been shed from our fallen soldiers but we will still be here playing our guts out until the last soldier comes home, for without them we wouldn't have the freedoms to do what we do and say what we have to say.
