Influences
TAKING CHASE influences could be listed for pages and pages, here however is a small list of bands we collectively see as an influence - The Police, Hot Water Music, RX Bandits, At the Drive-In, Colossal, Fugazi, Douglas, Muse, Mogwai, Biffy Clyro, The Get up Kids, Jawbreaker, N-Trance, The Eagles!
Taking Chase are collective where the word genre is not a restricted buzz word that 5 five gentlemen hide behind - playing music that makes you feel happy and accomplished is what you should take delight from.
We are all part of a "scene" that is split into too many sub-genres which is an uncomfortable and un-easy way to live, everyone should rejoice in the fact that it is all music - no matter what style you play!
Since the formation of Taking Chase in 2006, we have achieved more than we ever thought we would - being featured on MTV Get Seen Get Heard, our music played on Radio One, Radio Scotland and XFM Scotland, touring the UK twice and making so many new friends along the way, releasing our debut EP on Wasted State Records (AVAILABLE NOW), being a featured band in Big Cheese Magazine and this isn't even the beginning - we will continue to push the band as far as we possibley can - playing music is the best thing in the world.
Taking Chase have toured the UK with Catch-it Kebabs and Fights & Fires, and played all over the UK with awesome bands such as Howards Alias, CapDown, Mike Park, Sundowner, Chuck Ragan (Hot Water Music), Glass & Ashes, Sonic Boom Six, The Mercury League, Lightyear, Failsafe, Bombskare, Weapons of Brass Destruction, The JB Conspiracy, The King Blues, Buzzkill, Smoke Like a Fish, Once Over, The Misnomer, My Own Religion, Ben Cozine, Chief etc.....etc......

"At a time where most bands care more about their look than their musical integrity, and where true punk spirit is absent from the so-called “punk” bands, Useless ID are still all about playing hard, touring harder, and writing & playing the best songs they possibly can. In their own words, “We will tour our asses off in support of Redemption, armed with new drummer "Harpunk" and a case of cheap wine. We hope to see you all at the show. ”
