Taking On The World is a band that strips away the layers of what we today know as 'punk rock'. Rather than watching MTV, Taking On The World looks to the roots of punk. The influence of bands like the Clash and Social Distortion can clearly be heard in TOTW's sound. TOTW plays punk the way it was orginally conceived, as a derivative of rock n' roll, a sound born in a climate of social and political turmoil. With a strong lyrical message that is not afraid to question the current social and political climate.

Part of my 2008 project has been to re-produce some original 1977 songs from my UK classic punk band "Why Control" . The guys at "Booty Tank" have been working with me to try and capture that original energy in the new recordings. They are a group of dedicated and talented lads. Try to get out and watch them soon... !
During that Summer, hundreds of bands formed in different parts of the country that looked and sounded just like them. Collectively, we only needed a few to represent the punk legacy. These lad's were part of the answer, designed and developed from punk generation street DNA. They appeared ambivalent about their image on and off the stage.
