There's a lot of great films out there...I've appeared in a few of them, not so great...SOUTHERN DUST, THE VISIT, SLACKER, THE NEWTON BOYS, COWBOYS and IDIOTS, OF COURSE, student films that are lost forever, some MUSIC VIDEOS... TWO FOR TEXAS was the most fun...those guys played with a lot of black powder...explosions, guns, knives, beautiful women...I crashed into a bank of lights during a fight scene and...and no one was hurt...THEATRE ROLES in Tennessee William's, Summer & Smoke; Shakespeare's, Romeo & Juliet; Sam Shepard's, Cowboys 2, and something called MOON whose author I cannot remember. I wanna do BRECHT next....

SURFING THE NEWS,HISTORY; Television is about half an evil marketing/mind-control tool, which is a shame... so i turn the TV set upside down and sideways, draping it with colorful fabric, and/or submitting it to exotic electro-static charges. Filming exploding televisions...

About me: Todd, aka: Talansmith, or Slim Chance, depending on your sources, likes to sing, scream, whisper, bark, growl, moan, purr, and whistle...draw, paint, write, and sculpt...design, build, farm, and ranch...play 100 or one musical instruments, and tinker,topple, wiggle, and wobble...and not fall down. My dad is a civil engineer, my mom is a classical pianist, and I walk a fine line as a big detail, abstract expressionist, cowboy poet, and home building floor sweeper.
Mostly do carpentry work these days, puncuated by occasional forays into the stage production business assisting audio/video/lighting installations. Sometimes perform in no-budget films, play guitar, and just stick by my guns and learn to embrace the riches of light.
My spare change is worth more than the federal reserve. Also keep an eye on the news. Read, a lot, maybe too much. (Sorry, GW, words aren't very useful when trying to describe something truthful.)
Grew up in an oil refining town and as a result have a healthy disdain of the petroleum industry and most all that comes with it; especially the flames, the guns, the politics, monster trucks, and all the shitty little sports cars. I like tractors and plow horses. Second hand smoke isn't what is killing you; it's an excessive reliance on third-world labor, digital/fiat money, and that gas guzzlin', entertainment addicted, credit checked, fat ass, whorin' office boy...
Sorry, ladies, I'm not gonna pick you up in a Porsche, but I'm not above renting a bullet-proof limo for a few prestigous hours. That's how we teach and get groovy at the same time. Now go learn some more. Peace out.
