Empowering Georgia’s Talented Youth, Inc. (EGTYI) promotes culture and education through the performing arts, and sponsors one of the most noteable and respected Scholarship Programs for young women 13-17 years of age. Founded in 1971 by Hal Jackson, (legendary radio personality and 2001 Broadcasting and Cable Hall of Fame inductee).
This programs provides an opportunity for young women interested in obtaining secondary education goals, an opportunity to compete and win scholarships, international travel and culture experiences through the arts. To date HJTTI has awarded over $100,000 in scholarships. EGTYI also sponsors the Talented Pre-Teen Scholarships program open to young women 8-12 years of age.
EGTYI is more than a competiton, we provide a support system, exposure, encourage cross-culture exchange and nurture emerging talent from the state of Georgia while simultaneously providing developmental training, community awareness, educational scholarships and travel opportunities.
EGTYI strives to promote and empower the talent and intellect of girls 8 to 17 years of age. Our programs are open to all ethnic groups. Program participants typically are average or above average students with a performing talent and interested in using their artistic gifts as a platform to attain their secondary educational goals.
