I was also inspired by my mom, Bettie Gipson who has a great alto voice. My sisters Latonya and Latasha who I sang with growing up in Hobbs NM.

My sound is definitely contemporary with a definite message. My sound is most likely a culmination of the artists that I've grown to love.
SongwriterT, born as Taliah Gipson, is an aspiring songwriter. She was born in raised in the small town of Hobbs, NM. She grew up singing in church and was known for singing acapella harmonies with her two older sisters, LaTasha and LaTonya. Taliah also has an older brother, Rashone. Growing up in church set a foundation in her life, that has helped her remain grounded throughout life's struggles. Taliah began writing songs shortly after losing her sister, LaTasha, to cancer in May of 2000. This was an extremely difficult time for Taliah and lead her down a rollercoaster of emotions. Through all the turmoil, Taliah went on to earn two degrees. One in Design Communications and the other in Apparel Design and Manufacturing. Taliah believes that nothing is impossible and that God can bring joy out of every situation. Taliah moved to Las Vegas in 2006 and took a different career path. She is currently completing a Teaching Certification through the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. "I have 5 focuses in life: God, Family, Education, Fashion, and Music," Taliah states. These are the things that have kept me motivated. While in Las Vegas, the name SongwriterT emerged. Taliah says, "People are finally beginning to take notice of me as a writer. I seem to think that I can do it all, but if I have to stop everything for music...I will." It's obvious that Taliah is a woman with many colors and talents. She is going to make a mark for herself in this society. "My hope is that everyone I come across will be blessed by something God has done through me," Taliah utters. "No weapon formed against me shall prosper. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." SongwriterT is someone who is ready to take on anything.
