So here's what I learned. First of all, the fortune cookies lie. They are cheating bastards, those fortune cookies, dirty little motherfuckers that tempt you into believing them with their crispy baked exterior. Fuck those cookies, and the egg foo yong that they rode in on.
I understand how scissors can beat paper, and I get how a rock can beat scissors, but there's no fucking way paper can beat rock. Is paper supposed to magically wrap around rock and leave it immobile? Why the hell can't paper do this to scissors? Screw scissors, why can't paper do this to people? Why aren't sheets of college ruled notebook paper constantly suffocating students as they take notes in class? I'll tell you why, because paper can't beat anybody. A rock would tear that shit up in two seconds. When I play rock paper scissors, I always choose rock. Then when somebody claims to have beaten me with their paper I can punch them in the face with my already clenched face and say, oh shit, I'm sorry, I thought paper would protect you, you asshole.

We should meet the centaur and the dragon, and then perhaps suddenly behold, like the ancient shepherds, sheep, and dogs, and horses — and wolves. This recovery fairy-stories help us to make. In that sense only a taste for them may make us, or keep us, childish.

ack, it's treating us well and meanly...jobs are even harder to come by around here than in chicago. so, we're broke.
