Brian started out as a bass player/harmonica player in the late 80s playing in various RnB outfits before hooking up with Redvers Bailey,Andy Wood and Graham Twist (Whole Lotta Led) in Gloucester power pop combo Total Silence.The band enjoyed a memorable few years together supporting the likes of Dr and The Medics and The Commitments.The highlight being a performance at Summer Live, 95 Oxford in front of 10,000 + crowd.Headline act that day were the mighty PJ and Duncan!
Brian left the band to concentrate on sound engineering,working with the likes of Captain Sensible and The Selector.
After a break from music for a few years Brian returned to his blues roots as one half of the acoustic roots due Hair with Mickey Sims on Guitar.Brian featuring on Vocals,Bass,Mandolin and Harmonica.Hair performed at The Pontardawe and Raglan Music Festivals and were regulars on the South Wales folk circuit.
In 2005 Brian joined top South Wales blues band Talkin Blues as Vocalist/Harmonica player and spent a few years with them before moving on to pursue other musical directions
Since parting company with Talkin Blues,Brian has performed with the likes of Tommy Allen of Trafficker amongst others.
The latest chapter in the story came in late 2008 when a chance meeting with former bandmate Paul Elder led to the formation of The Smokes,an Americana influenced outfit featuring Paul on guitar and Brian on Bass/Vocals/Harmonica and Mandolin.Its been a busy time for The Smokes writing new material ready for the release of their debut album.

Cheers Bri, catch you at the Engineers if not before. I used to live up in Baneswell but escaped out to the 'burbs (Maindee!) a few years back. I bought a guitar a few years back but left hand and right hamd don't want to work together. Any tips?
