I like long walks on the beach, romantic candlelit dinners, sword fighting, tossing a chakram, using really cool sais and talking 'bout Xena and Hercules with all my pals! I'm totally into tall, tough, blue-eyed chicks and petite chicks with green eyes who can swing a mean staff. Not to mention cute, curly-headed blond guys who know all those old hunter's tricks, and tall, sandy haired demigods. I also like three headed monsters, people who spend too much time on the Internet, visiting Hades, tossing fireballs to see where they land, spoiled gods, nasty gashes, watching people walk gauntlets, and eating those little dumplings with the red stuff in the middle that Gabrielle makes. In my cellar are Titans and in my attic are Harpies, plus somewhere, here and there, are Fates and Furies to spin and weave, to drive me insane and control my life.
I spend more time than I should wondering about the purpose of life, what makes a true hero, and counting how many ways there are to kill a god. I watch a lot of Xena and Hercules on TV--I've got all the episodes on DVD and you should see my prop collection! I'm really into Sci-Fi/Fantasy conventions and meeting all kinds of people. I love surfing the web--here are some of my favorite places to go, other than myself of course!
Music
Well, myself, I prefer Greek Amazon music, but around here we speak of all types ranging from Classical, Irish folk songs, 70's, Head banger to Hard Rock.
Movies
Movies? So many, including the H:TLJ movies, which others to mention? Which...? Oh, of course! The X:WP movie that I wish to see, but have long been denied. If only I could think of a way to influence its production. hmmm...
Since I should mention other movies, I would include 'Ghost Town', 'Kull the Conqueror', 'The Darkroom', 'Fracture', 'Alien Apocalypse', 'Dragonlance Animated Movie', 'Diamonds & Guns', 'The Genesis Code', 'Walking Tall 3', 'The Tattooist', 'Vampire Bats', 'Hercules and Xena - The Animated Movie: The Battle for Mount Olympus', and so many, many more. Even some that do not include my favorite people, but this isn't all about me, after all. Others around me like movies such as 'Spiderman', 'Seabiscuit', 'Bonnie and Clyde', 'Philadelphia Story', 'Remember the Titans', etc...
Television
This is such a foolish question, X:WP and H:TLJ of course. *sigh... yes, Gabrielle.* Sorry about that, I am told to add that I... we enjoy many different shows on TV. 'Battlestar Galactica', ' Maddigan's Quest', 'Celebrity Duets', 'Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda', 'Regis & Kelly Show', 'X-Files', 'Power Rangers, S.P.D.', 'Just Shoot Me', 'Dharma and Greg', 'Cold Case', 'Army Wives', 'House'. There are many more that, like movies, don't include my favorite people, like 'Dr. Who', 'CSI', 'Grey's Anatomy', 'Charmed', 'Stargate:Atlantis', 'Dirty Jobs', 'Ghost Whisperer', 'My Name is Earl' and 'Survivor' just to name a few.
Books
'Serpent's Shadow', 'Homer's Odyssey', 'Prophesy of Darkness', 'The Eye Of The Ram', 'Plato's The Seventh Letter', 'The Empty Throne', 'Aeschylus' Prometheus Bound', 'The Poems of Sappho', 'X:WP The Official Guide to the Xenaverse', 'Lucy Lawless and Renee O'Connor: Warrior Stars of Xena', 'Hercules & Xena: The Unofficial Companion', etc... Oh, and there are non H & X related books that I... we like, such as: 'Labyrinth', 'Davinci Code', 'Good Moon Rising', 'Kushiels Dart' and 'Half-Blood Prince' to name a few and fanfics, can't forget fanfics!
About me:
I'm an 8-year-old Xena and Hercules Message Board, born on the Internet through the power of the greater good. Here's what happened... MaryD and Redhead brought me to life back in 2001, with a plan in mind for me to grow up to be a magical place where all kinds of Xena and Hercules fans from around the galaxy could hang out and talk about these fabulous TV shows and other stuff, too.
In 2002, MaryD put me in Redhead's capable hands, with EZ RYDER as Red's "Second-in-command". Then in 2003, Redhead passed my care into EZ RYDER's hands and she took excellent care of me for 6 years. As of February 2009, EZ RYDER--still remaining as an Administrator--transferred my care back to MaryD. Thank you for 6 great years EZ, and welcome back, MaryD! :-)
It's not like I'm a problem child or anything. It's good to have lots of people molding a new life... it takes a village, after all. So anyway... lots of people hang with me--I've got more than 3,200 members, from all over the world, and they've posted more than a million posts on me over the years! All kinds of posts! Anything really -- I've got lots of delightful forums for you to explore (you can even discuss your favorite soda or your cat's name.) and it's said that my chat room is particularly sexy. Or, words to that effect. ~wink~
Sometimes I have exciting video and banner contests for my members, with really cool X:WP prizes. And every so often, someone involved with the making of Xena or Hercules (often both) stops by to post or answer questions. Sometimes they even share an exclusive interview procured through .. questionable means by our intrepid TX traveling reporters. I've got something for everyone and every new person who joins up, makes me all that much cooler. Not that I'm vain, of course not, I am just a message board after all. But you should really check me out and see for yourself if I'm as fabulous as they say! Think of it as... a dare.
Who I'd like to meet:
I must say, I've found that Xena and Hercules fans are the coolest people on earth and I just can't get enough of them! I'm also into meeting fans of other Sci-Fi/Fantasy shows, popular entertainment in general, even sports! I've got special forums for various interests. I've even got a Fight Club and an Adults Only forum you can join if you post on me long enough! I've got everything you need entertainment-wise, you just gotta bring your own snacks!
Come chat with me--I just love to chat! People from all over the globe, the galaxy, the Xenaverse and alternate realities, already post on me. The more, the merrier! I love meeting people from different places. So, please become my MySpace friend or just follow my link to check me out, and become a member so you can join the fun! A marvelous time is guaranteed. Plus, it would make Gabrielle really happy.

** GHOST TOWN DIRECTOR SENDS MESSAGE TO RENEE and XENA FANS! **
On September 05, 2008 Dean Teaster, Producer and Director of the movie Ghost Town, in which Renee O'Connor plays "Little Jack", sent a very complimentary message about working with Renee and thanked the Xena fandom for supporting Renee and the film. Well, it sure looks like he became a huge fan of Renee, just like the rest of us. Hmmm, no surprise, how can he not? ;-) Thank you, Dean Teaster! We look forward to grabbing that Ghost Town DVD.
On August 22-24, 2008, many Xena and Renee O'Connor fans converged from around the world to meet her at the 2008 Fan Expo which was held at the Metro Toronto Metro Convention Centre, in Toronto, Canada. The turnout was incredible, as the lines snaked their way around several times over! Renee was very gracious, warm and open with her fans, signing autographs and personalizing memorabilia for hours on end. What a trouper! Special thanks to Renee's assistant, Michelle, for adding to the awesome experience for us hordes of Renee O'Connor fans. Thanks to both of them for allowing fans access to taking great photos ops with Renee, and for general photos of her to remember the event. Many photos and links are available for viewing on AUSXIP as well as a few discussion threads in the ROC Chat Forum on our Talking Xena message board.
*View Reports and a few photos by joining the discussion threads on Talking Xena!*
This discussion includes some reports and photographs of the experience -- meeting Renee and many other ROC fans -- on both Saturday and Sunday of the Expo.
Renee's assistant, Michelle, was wearing a "prototype" of a Team ROC T-shirt they were considering developing. There was a discussion in ROC Chat about this shirt, and a photo was posted in the first "Renee Does Toronto..." discussion thread mentioned above. Hmmm, from just that discussion alone, it looks like if this shirt gets created, that they would fly off the shelves. ;-)
Many fans wondered where the accent on Renee's name was suppose dot really go... above the first "e", or the second "e". Many of us see it over the second "e", which seemed unique, so it begged the question... Well, a Renee fan and TX member, Schuttegirl, received the answer after asking Renee directly. Nope, not giving it away on her name written here. ;-) Check it out!
The Gate interviewed Renee O'Connor, and she shared moments about her visit to Toronto for Fan Expo, her film, and her fans. A link to the video is included in the topic.

** ADRIENNE WILKINSON INTERVIEW on "Filmnut"! **
On May 14, 2008, Actress Adrienne Wilkinson, best known by Xena fans for playing Livia/Eve on Xena: Warrior Princess, visited the "Filmnut" crew and talked about her "Xena Days", her starring in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, her short film, Reflections and the work involved in that project, plus many other topics.
On March 12, 2008, Writer/ Executive Producer Katherine Fugate dropped in on "Filmnut" to discuss feature work and television. She is known in the Xenaverse for writing the episode "When Fates Collide" and is the creator of "Army Wives". Renee O'Connor, a very good friend of Katherine's was also mentioned on the show. As usual, excellent interview, Jeff!!
On March 13, theStream.tv posted a separate video clip of Katherine answering some Xena-related questions after her interview episode on Filmnut. Great clip!
Thanks again to Jeff Schubert and Brian Gramo for posting these videos for us to enjoy... repeatedly. :-)
** AUSXIP's EXCLUSIVE STEVEN SEARS VIDEO INTERVIEW! **
Steven Sears was gracious enough to give AUSXIP reporter Christa and MaryD a very interesting and entertaining interview on various issues covering Steven's life and career choices, what the fandom has meant to him, working on Xena and other hot issues. One of the best interviews Steven has given. Here's a small snippet from the interview which is exclusive to the Talking Xena Message Board.
The entire interview is NOW AVAILABLE for download!
On Thursday January 24, 2008, just before the Xena Convention weekend, many Xena fans from all over the world gathered in front of NBC Studios in Burbank, CA to join the WGA writers on one of their picket lines. Some Talking Xena members had the opportunity to march in solidarity with other fellow Xenites to support the writers, and talk with various former Xena writers, cast and crew (including Renee O'Connor, Steven Sears, Victoria Pratt, Rob Tapert, Katherine Fugate, Liz Friedman, and many others). Here is a video clip of some of the interaction with just a few of the "Xena Alumni".
Many thanks to Victoria Pratt, Steven Sears and Rob Tapert for taking the time to talk with us on video, sending messages and shout outs to Talking Xena board members and Xenites at large!
You can also read and contribute to the WGA Picket discussion on the Talking Xena board. We'd also love to hear from others who were there as well! :-)
** WATCH RENEE O'CONNOR ONLINE on a "Filmnut" episode from theStream.tv! **
On December 12, 2007, many thousands of fans from all over the world had the pleasure of watching actress and filmmaker Reneé O'Connor ("Gabrielle" on Xena: Warrior Princess) interviewed Live on "Filmnut" -- a program focused on all aspects of filmmaking -- on theStream.tv. This live program was interactive, where fans were able to participate by sending in questions via Instant Messenger. This was Filmnut's final episode for 2007, and what an episode it was!
Many thanks to Jeff Schubert and Brian Gramo for a fantastic show! Oh yeah, and mentioning me, "Talking Xena" twice, was nice too. ;-)
On December 13, theStream.tv posted a separate video clip of the last few extra minutes after the show while Reneé was shooting a network "shout-out". For those fans who missed the live broadcast that included these last few minutes, here it is...
Thanks again to Jeff Schubert and Brian Gramo for posting the video for us to enjoy again.
In Autumn of 2007, Rob Tapert (Executive Producer of Xena and Hercules, and filmmaker), graciously agreed to answer questions posed by many Talking Xena members who are Xena/Hercules and horror fans. From October 29 to November 5, 2007, fans submitted many questions, which were then forwarded to him to review when he had the opportunity.
On December 12, Rob completed the mission and we posted the answers that he graciously answered. Boy, were we ever pleasantly surprised to discover that he answered nearly all of them! To anyone else, those questions probably would have been overwhelming, but not for Rob. There were well over 100 questions asked and answered!
Thank you again, Rob, for taking time out of your busy schedule to communicate with us, being so thoughtful and candid.
In Summer of 2007, Fiona Metcalfe -- founder of the Brittney Powell Fan Club -- generously presented an opportunity for Brittney fans. Actress Brittney Powell ("Brunnhilda", on Xena:Warrior Princess), graciously agreed to answer questions posed by her fans, who included Talking Xena members. From June 27 to July 5, 2007, questions were asked on the board, then compiled and submitted.
Well, Brittney responded quite quickly with her answers! They are posted on the Official Brittney Fan Club MySpace Blog.
Thank you again, Brittney, for taking the time out to answer questions. A special thanks also to Fiona, who facilitated this great experience!
On January 12, 2007, Dean Teaster, director of the movie Ghost Town, was nice enough to join Talking Xena and start a discussion thread about all aspects of the movie, including Renee O'Connor's role as "Little Jack".
**Q&A Session with Ghost Town Writer/Producer/Actor DJ Perry!**
Back in November 2006, Ghost Town actor/writer/producer DJ Perry kindly offered to do a Q&A session with Talking Xena's "ROC Chat" forum. Mr. Perry was kind enough to answer all the questions submitted by TX members about the film, and what it was like to work with Renee O'Connor. Thank you again, Mr. Perry!
