TFF 2009 Opening Night Films IN A DREAM Directed by Jeremiah Zagar
Over the past four decades Isaiah Zagar has covered over 50,000 square feet of Philadelphia with stunning mosaic murals. This documentary feature chronicles his work and his tumultuous relationship with his wife Julia. It follows the Zagars as their marriage implodes and a harrowing new chapter in their life unfolds. Winner of multiple film festival awards including the Emerging Visions Audience Award at SxSW. FSU’s Torchlight Program, in association with the Tallahassee Film Festival, is pleased to present this incredible first feature from director (and son of Isaiah), Jeremiah Zagar. Starring Isaiah Zagar, Julia Zagar, Ezekiel Zagar 2008. 80mins. USA. Color. English. Parental Advisory Suggested. Preceded by the award winning short film NEXT FLOOR Directed by Denis Villeneuve Written by Jacques Davidts
During an opulent and luxurious banquet, complete with cavalier servers and valets, eleven pampered guests participate in what appears to be a ritualistic gastronomic carnage. In this absurd and grotesque universe, an unexpected sequence of events undermines the symphony of abundance. Winner of the Best Short Film Award at Cannes 2008, the Tallahassee Film Festival is pleased to present this film. Starring Jean Marchand, Simone Chevalot, Daniel Rousse 2008. 11min. Canada. Color. English. Parental Advisory Suggested. SHOWTIMES Wednesday, April 15, 2009, 7pm @ FSU Student Life Center BREAKING UPWARDS Directed by Daryl Wein Written by Peter Duchan, Zoe Lister-Jones, Daryl Wein
This raw, romantic docu-comedy/drama follows a young New York couple, who after four years together, have grown stifled. Desperate to escape their ennui, but fearful of life apart, they decide to intricately strategize their own breakup. Blurring the line between documentary and narrative by casting real-life couple (and filmmakers) Daryl Wein and Zoe Lister-Jones as themselves, the film takes an uncensored look at love, lust and the pangs of codependency. Starring Zoe Lister-Jones, Daryl Wein, Olivia Thirlby, Andrea Martin 2009. 88min. USA. Color. English. Parental Advisory Suggested. Filmmakers Daryl Wein & Zoe Lister-Jones are expected to be present for a Q&A following the screening. SHOWTIMES Wednesday, April 15, 2009, 9:45p @ FSU Student Life Center MORE FILMS POSTED SOON...

p> This compendium of illiterations, art, literature and journalism is a compost pile of fermenting illiterati to toss onto the garden of your imagination to further fertilize it to yield a bounty of ideas and free thought. It breaks rules as it does not recognize good grammer in some instances as the final authority over random thought. The words and art herein hopefully fall from an imaginary pinata as delightful and delicious candy
