Tamaya Honda

Bio:

.. .. .. .. I was born in Tokyo in 1969 and was raised among the very musical family- father Takehiro Honda is a jazz pianist,
mother Chico Honda is a vocalist,
and two uncles are famus saxophone player Sadao Watanabe
and drummer Fumio Watanabe.

Started my career by joining the popular Jazz-Fusion group"Native Son" with my father and a saxophonist Kosuke Mine in 1985.

I kept peforming with name like Fumio Karasima(piano),Shunzo Ono(trumpet),Kimiko Ito(vocal),Kazumi Wanabe(guiter),Sadao Watanabe and with masters like Mal Waldron,Toshiko Akiyoshi.

I formed own Jazz-Rock-Fusion band "Planet X" in 2000.
and my 2nd album release of name "Elvin Jones Tribute Band" in 2007

I pursuit to Jazz music continues with recent works with pianist, Masabumi Kikuchi, and Kei Akagi, the last keyboardist of Miles davis.
