Tami's Interests
General
I am a published author with my book, "Fully Fertile" debuting in April of 08. Pre-orders are now being taken on Amazon.com. I teach yoga and yoga philosophy classes and love creating rituals. I also love going to movies and shopping. I know, pretty shallow but nothing can beat the blues like retail therapy. I'm a pisces with tons of water in my chart so you can often find me near the water or at the beach.
Music
I am a big fan of U2. What yoga teacher doesn't have a crush on Bono? Sting's pretty cool too. He's a fellow yogi (Stingji)and sometimes shows up at yoga studios in Chicago to practice. Then, of course, there are the yoga music greats: Krishna Das, Deva Primal and Donna Delory.
Movies
You can tell a lot about me by my favorite movie list:
Sound of Music, Sleepless in Seattle, Moonstruck, Good Will Hunting. I really need a happy or inspirational ending!
Television
All time favorite is "Friends." As a kid I loved "I Dream of Jeanie" and "Bewitched." I wanted to be magical when I grew up. Then there are the recent cult classics that deserve special mention such as "Arrested Development" and "The Office."
Books
I've always enjoyed Richard Bach books like "One" and "A Bridge Across Forever." Everybody should read Deepak Chopra's "Seven Spiritual Laws of Success" if you want really tangible tools for peaceful living. In the "Power of Now" Eckhart Tolle not only talks about enlightenment, he describes it in detail and teaches us about a concept we use in yoga philosophy classes called the Witness principle. Most recently, I really loved reading "The Red Tent," a celebration of womanhood and "Eat,Pray,Love, a must read for every yogi.
Heroes
My guru, Goswami Kriyananda, by teaching through example. Oprah because she uses her power, money and influence for good. It is fun to watch her on her own spiritual journey. J.K. Rowling. She's not really one of my heroes and I've never read a Harry Potter book but I am mesmerized by a woman who could so positively influence the world through her writing and imagination. Madonna (did I lose you on this one?)because she's a marketing genius. She's close to 50 years old, and still fresh.
About me: My name is Tamara Quinn. I am the founder of Pulling Down the Moon, Integrative Care for Fertility.
