Tammie Davis, an up and coming Nashville Recording Artist and songwriter from Lincolnton, N.C., was accepted into the United States Marine Corps as a Marine Musician & Pianist. She became the featured vocalist at Marine Corps Base Quantico for Marine band concerts and events.
Upon completion of her enlistment, she received an honorable discharge from the Marines and began exploring the depths of her musical talent and passion with a greater focus.
In 2006 something happened that changed her life forever. Just minutes after joining an online dating service, Tammie received an e-mail from a man that would bring new love and direction to her music. The old adage, love at first sight seems appropriate. For shortly after Tammie and Mike met, Mike saw not only the love of his life in Tammie, but also recognized her tremendous musical talents as being unique and refreshingly special.
Mike's belief in her talents and musical ability, along with his insistent encouragement gave Tammie the boost she needed to take her career to a new and higher level. Tammie’s uneasy resistance did not deter Mike’s faith, nor his unrelenting persistence. Mike and Tammie married in November of that year, and he continued encouraging her to pursue her singing. Mike’s love and encouragement were all she had needed all along.
Tammie met Nashville Producer Tim Sidden and amazing things began to fall neatly into place. With Tim as her producer and Mike by her side, Tammie recorded the first five original songs in July of 2008 at Hilltop Recording Studios in Nashville, TN. One of the songs Tammie recorded that particular day was a song penned by Sidden and ‘Always And Forever" has become the title track to Tammie’s debut EP.
The banter being heard on Nashville’s famed Music Row recently has been Tammie’s songs and her unique sultry voice are a breath of fresh air to the Nashville music industry. Some are already calling Tammie and Mike the modern day “Loretta & Doo Lynn”.
Stay tuned, this could very well be the ride of a lifetime.
