Tammy Darlene has always had that something inside her that kept urging: "Sing!" Growing up on a hundred-acre farm in northern California, for Tammy and her family, music was entertainment, and her mother played the greats: Patsy Cline, Tammy Wynette, Dolly Parton, Elvis.
And with those records, a living room hearth turned music stage and the standard hairbrush microphone, the shy Tammy Darlene stepped into her first spotlight. Singing "The Happiest Girl in the whole USA" and "Harper Valley PTA," Tammy began to dream of becoming a real country music singer.
With a voice that pulls listeners into the heart of a song, Tammy has the ability to convey the emotion of the lyrics and the spirit of a melody. She has been compared to Joey Martin of Joey + Rory; and Tammy credits much of her style to her musical influences, which include Shania Twain, Faith Hill, and JoDee Messina.
As an adult, Tammy got married and became the mother of four beautiful children. She always told her kids to follow their dreams and pursue what they wanted to do in life. Realizing she wasn't taking her own advice, Tammy thought, "I better live by example and start writing songs and singing again."
Her first song, "Thank You for Loving Me," was a tribute and gift to her husband, which sparked a reaction from friends and family, encouraging Tammy to continue pursuing music. She then recorded "A Promise" and "Finally Over You," and continues to work on writing and recording songs for her first album. Tammy says "Music kind of always hung in there and said, 'Remember me?'"
Now residing near the beach in sunny southern California, Tammy is writing and recording songs for her first CD. “Music is an important part of my life. I love how a song can take you back to a moment in time. I feel that music is healing and it has brought a tremendous amount of joy to my life!"
