Music
Mellow female alternative is my favorite, haven't gotten to listen to a lot of music lately...I like music that is sad, sensual, sexy...
Movies
Iron Jawed Angels is my all-time favorite, with Hilary Swank playing Alice Paul, about the suffragists and what they went through to get women the right to vote. Also love Two Weeks Notice, the Harry Potter movies, romantic comedies, foreign films, unusual films. Have been LOVING biographies of people who make a difference...what an inspiration! Absolutely HATE scary movies, won't watch them...
Books
You Already Know what to Do, Ghandi, Mothers & Daughters, other Inspirational reading
Heroes
Ghandi, MLK Jr., Alice Paul, Frank Serpico, Jesus. Everyone who has stood against society to make a difference. You have my utmost admiration and respect! I know it's not easy, in fact it sucks most of the time...but you all did it, and so can I!
Buy this AWESOME Maria Daines song for Shepp, the German Shepherd starved to death in Corpus Christi, TX. Maria is simply amazing, and DDB thanks her for allowing us to raise funds with her beautiful music!
I am founder and executive director of Dogs Deserve Better, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to ending the chaining and penning of dogs, and bringing 'man's best friend' into the home and family. I currently live in rural Pennsylvania, and credit my animal advocacy to a childhood living with the tragedy I work againsta sad, chained beagle (Maggie) and a beloved black lab (Gally) and cats, all living outside and longing to be in.
I started Dogs Deserve Better because of Bo, formerly Worthless, a black lab mix I was later able to rescue and who lived as part of my family until passing in 2003. If my heart didnt break every time I drove past his beautifully sweet face for six years, I would still be seeking my mission today. To read more about the work and programs of Dogs Deserve Better, go to http://www.dogsdeservebetter.org.
My animal-advocacy-focused art has produced 27 pieces and 4 series to date, among which are: Little Girl Looking, which documents my journey from that of a young girl who does not see or care about the plight of the animals to an adult who now, even in the midst of pleasure, cannot forget their pain; and the New Orleans After Katrina Series, which reflects the feelings of rescuers in the wake of the tragedy and my experiences from rescuing there in November 2005. My art site can be reached at http://www.littlegirllooking.com.

Who I'd like to meet: All stars, public figures, and corporate heads who love dogs and are interested in helping us further this cause. All dog lovers. Chained dogs, living alone and ignored in the backyard, are the forgotten cause in America. We strive to bring their lives to public awareness in order to change America's acceptance of this practice, and making all dogs part of the family. Adrian Zmed, from TJ Hooker and Grease 2 fame, has been helping us with this issue, and we need more people to join him in standing against the chaining of dogs for life.

Many of you, my dear friends, have asked me how JJ is doing. I figured it would be easier just to let you all know this way. I'm caring for him like a sick child nearly 24 hours a day. I don't get much sleep (I'm not complaining) these days so I often forget to get back to you as I have limited computer time as well. It's not that I don't read your messages or think about what wonderful friends God has blessed me with. I truly enjoy hearing from you and love getting messages, comments and emails. I do want you to know that if I don't reply right away I will as soon as I get a chance. I love each of you dearly and thank you so much for everything.
We need many, many prayers for JJ. Prayers were answered for Winston (and continue to be) and without you I don't know if he'd be here with us today.
I have put up a web page on Winston's site for JJ. This will make it easier if you would like to check in on JJ. I will continue to update this page. I invite you to visit it as well as our regular updates page. Here is the link:
