From a very early age music has been intertwined in my life. My
mother used to sing to me, when I was a baby, to get me to fall asleep. The calm, smooth
sound of my mother's voice seemed to always do the trick. Even before I could walk, a
little tune could often be heard escaping my lips. As I grew up around the farm, sometimes
my kittens, dogs, cows, and chickens would receive impromptu concerts from me.
Everywhere I went, music seemed to follow me - from the farms of Missouri to the sandhills
of Nebraska to the corn fields of southern Illinois.
A lover of the outdoors, I was as comfortable swimming in the creeks and roaming the hills
in the Ozarks near my childhood home of Mansfield, Missouri, as I was singing country and
bluegrass favorites with my parents and nine siblings. Saturday nights were family music
nights, filled with joy and pleasant harmonies. With my Mom on guitar, I faithfully learned
the old favorites that I still love today.
I grew up to be quiet and conservative. Only around my few close friends did I ever let my
hair down. When most people hear me sing, they are surprised that such a melodious sound
could come from such a meek and quiet young lady.
After many years of following music..s trail, I have finally released my first CD, "Touch
of Grace". If you like bluegrass music, you will love this CD. I hope you enjoy the
samples I have on this site. If you would like the CD, just visit my website at TammyLarson.com to order it.
