I'M WITH THE BAND
Helping kids through music….
One of my 2008 goals is to work with kids who love music- and create a program to support children in the Bay Area; who’s music programs have been eliminated or drastically limited due to budget cuts.
The simple fact is that children that have music in their lives have increased self-esteem; the acquisition of business skills; and the development of much needed creative thinking, problem solving and communications skills. Best of all it can provide them with a healthy alternative to being out on the streets!
“I’m With the Band” is a program which is working with kids in the San Francisco, Alameda and Contra Costa unified school districts where music education & after school programs have been dramatically cut or eliminated all together. “I’m With the Band” will help kids to create play and record their own music in a band environment-
Your funding will help children have access to instruments, and other tools necessary to practice and succeed. By helping children play in a band they learn about teamwork, how to set goals, and build a lifelong appreciation of the arts. Kids that do not have “performance aspirations” can work with behind the scenes tools to record the songs of the performers.
I'll make sure you see the real value in this stimulus package plan. You will get the opportunity to see the success of your donations, as I will be announcing showcasing performances of the I’m With the Band artists in upcoming shows around the bay area.
In this year of great peril and promise, your contributions will go a long way towards further energizing music enrichment programs for Bay Area children.
please think about giving children the gift of healthy educational opportunities.
I believe THIS is a stimulus plan that we can all support.
You can count on me to update you on the success of this program as we move forward.

Tamra Engle is an award winning singer songwriter who's latest release The Blonde Flame Session was on the Nominating ballot for the 50th annual Grammy Awards for Best contemporary folk album.
Her sound has the rock sensibilities of Fleetwood Mac and the folk edge of early Neil Young;
With a career in music spanning more than twenty-five years. She started out fronting the all girl punk rock sensations The MsFits, which led to, among other things, opening gigs for the Go-Gos.
This engaging acoustic performer has worked as a studio musician in Los Angeles and toured the country tirelessly.
She has had songs placed in television movies, and nationally aired commercials; and now is your chance to catch her live and book her for an upcoming performance you can read more about her and hear samples from "The Blonde Flame Sessions" at www.tamraengle.com"
Or if you are lucky enough to catch one of her live sets, come on up and say hey. I know Tamra would love it!

Hope you're rockin' and rollin'....I'm getting better everyday (miss playing w/ John while he's in Sweden), but am working on some little projects w/ local musicians, FUN!! I'm so blessed to have gotten the opportunity to get back into music.....how've you been??
Hey girlfriend...if you visit my "space" and look at the comments, Vinnie has posted the TV video from your recent gig up here. Check it out when ya can. Party On!
Hi Tamra! Just passing by and have read Nusi's review of your performance. WOW! you must have been great! I wish I could be nearer to have the chance to see you. I really hope in the near future. Good luck for tonight's concert. Love from Italy Ciao Cristina

Tamra, It was such a pleasure to see you and Edo last Sat., fabulous performance! The "blond moment" was precious. I hope to get a blog up on the show by the weekend, don't know where the time has gone! Ugh, age! Til then, hope that you are having a great week! Love, Nusi
and I did try out two of the "new" songs at a solo gig and one went over well and the other...they hadn't drank enough yet...but I had! Hope all is well... Party On!
Yeah, the last time I saw you was in the audience at the Blame Sally show at the Throckmorton a year ago. :) I'm planning to be at the Falkirk show, I like Murphy Productions and Erma and Dan, and I'm subscribed to them. I really tried getting into the Bazaar show but I didn't get there until 7:30 then spent 20 min. with about 6 other cars driving around looking for a parking space, and every time I went by the Bazaar, it was packed like sardines! So I gave up and went home. This time I won't have a prior dinner date, and I'll buy a ticket online ahead of time! Cheers, Nusi xo
Ha ha! Yep Joni Mitchell, open tunings and broken strings. Like I can really haul half a dozen guitars and a tech. Unfortunately, I have to work 8 am to midnight tomorrow. Unless my boss meant until noon, in which case, I'll be there. ~w~
ok so now you KNOW I'm gonna start selling my mug on orange hoodies...Thanks again for playing w/me in MON-roe- I really like yor stuff-let's chat soon~Q
Tamra- Great show tonight in Redding, lots of positive energy. You know, 'Good Vibes'. It was also a real pleasure to finally meet you in person. Again, great show and I hope to see you when I play the Nomad on the 26th.
If you want Gr8 music 2nite...better head to a club before I get there. Other than that I've got one or 2 that I like but you know me and syllables. Party On!
Hey Tamra! I've been busy indoors at work, so I can't be out in the beautiful weather, I can only look at it.
Since you're asking me personally to go to the Bazaar, I'll just have to go. I have a previous dinner commitment, so I may miss the kiddies. I want to grab a pic of you for my slide show. :-)
If I only knew better...I'd swear it's Tues. and it's the start of the weekend. And because of that I have "GR8 Expectations" for this evening... Party On for 6 pm!
