Latest News from the studio... Howdy, we've been real busy here recording all types of music. As I mentioned in the last blog, Bang Bang Eche came in and recorded their gritty number 'Dirt in the Water'. Speaking of Round Up winners - this years victors The Klap recorded a tune with our friends at The Sitting Room, then the track legged over to us for mastering, then to Logan at Gorrilla Pictures for the making of the video - all turned around within a week! We tracked two wicked songs that will be mixed in the States. Should be killer. The loudest drummer I've ever heard, plus the lowest strung bass... (was it a low c? sheeesh.) A local singer songwriter by the name of Lisa Tui came in and recorded 7 beautiful bluesy/acoustic numbers. It was a real pleasure, apart from her almost blowing up my equipment with her massive vocal volume! fwhooar! Thanks Lisa. At the moment, in progress is an album from a very interesting group called Emeralds and Greenstone. We are in the process of finishing off tracking, then mixing and mastering. I guess you could call it "world" type music, being cross genres and using instruments from different cultures (particularly Irish and Maori), and its coming along real nice. And finally (for now anyway) Thomas Coffey is in re mixing and recording vocals with our lovely Neumann U67. These tracks are bound to end up on the radio as catchy doesn't really do it justice.
