Tang's Blurbs |
About me:
In 1957, I was introduced by General Foods Corporation as a powdered breakfast drink. In 1965, NASA began using me as a beverage for astronauts on space missions. I am currently owned by Kraft Foods and am available in over thirty flavors. In 2007, Kraft introduced a reduced sugar version of me.
I can be heated like hot chocolate.
I can clean your dishwasher, though I am not intended to do so.
William A. Mitchell invented me, Pop Rocks, Jell-O, and Cool Whip.
In an episode of That 70's Show, aspiring astronaut Michael Kelso remarks "Girls must really love astronauts: it says here they get all the Tang they want!"
In "The Coneheads," the two aliens mention Tang being the drink that the astronauts take to the moon, then laugh about humans going to the moon.
In the Simpsons episode "Deep Space Homer," Homer rings NASA and President Clinton looking for some Tang.
In the Seinfeld episode "The Hamptons," George compares himself to Neil Armstrong when he finds out Jerry saw his girlfriend naked before he did: "It's like I'm Neil Armstrong! I turn around for a sip of Tang, and you jump out first."
I come in over 30 flavors, including:
orange
orange sugar-free
wild berry
tangarine strawberry
orange kiwi
orange strawberry
tropical passionfruit
grape
watermelon wallop
orange pineapple
pineapple
guyabano
pomelo
