As a performer - all, but active in jazz, classical, show and the composer with his own genre, Frank Zappa.

About me: Hi - I'm Brian Casey. First and foremost I'm a bassist performing and teaching around Portland, Oregon. I play double bass (upright) and electric bass in all styles of music.
Currently (Summer/Fall 2009) I'll be playing gigs with my own Jazz Trio, Eric Skye Duo or Trio, Willamette Falls Symphony, Lauri Jones Trio, Conjunto Alegre, Transcendental Brass Band and Pojama People - playing the music of Frank Zappa with Ike Willis. I'll also be taking a little break from club and casual work (July 10-August 23) to perform in the pit of the musical The Producers, at Lakewood Theatre Company in Lake Oswego, OR.
In addition to my music career, I work during the day as the Post Production Supervisor of an Ad Agency in Portland, where I'm responsible for video and audio editing facilities and staffing.
In my personal life I have two wonderful and frequently challenging teenage kids, Austin and Avalon, and the most supportive and understanding wife ever, Kelley.
Who I'd like to meet: Mingus, Monk, Miles and 'Trane
Hey Brian, Unfortunately I don't have a gig this evening... my next gig is on the 8th at Mississippi Pizza with Andrew Oliver's sextet. I'll definitely say hello next time we are in the same place. Thanks... Eric
Welcome to Billy's Bunker (Music Reviews)! It's been busy in the Bunker.
The latest review is Adrian Belew's "Side Two," which CD is good evidence that brother Adrian has become a full bodied 21st Century composer with a syntax of instrumental meaning from the chrysalis of Nuevo Metal born.

It's raining in Nashville! And I wanna celebrate, so here's a brand new song, written seven years ago and recorded yesterday. It's a rough, but then I'll let you hear hear it again, when it's finished.
Damn! Sorry I missed you. Yeah I woulda loved to hung out and caught Ike's show, but I saw the opportunity to actually get some sleep before my church gig. Thanks for gettin' in touch. Take care, B
