Celebrating its fourth year, Tango Espejo is promoting the release of its new CD featuring original music and arrangements of classic tangos for the film Deadly Embrace. Tango Espejo made its debut in 2009 for a doctoral research recital that focused on Nuevo Tango composer Astor Piazzolla. Since its debut, the quintet has mesmerized audiences throughout the U.S. Midwest, attracting fans both nationally and internationally through recordings. Tango Espejo is applauded by a wide variety of audiences including aficionados of classical, jazz, tango, and Latin music. Recognized nationally and abroad as Piazzolla specialists, Tango Espejo is a favorite at milongas and tango festivals. Performances have included Old Town School of Folk Music in Chicago, Peoria Bach Festival, Decatur Celebration and regular club engagements in Urbana, Illinois, where the quintet originated.
