Bio
Tantor formed sometime in 1998 or 1999 when Jonathan, Chris, John and Crystal started jamming and came up with some cool songs. They were without a singer, but played a couple of shows with local hero Matt Evans from Staring Back on vocals. At a local show in '99 Jonathan ran into Jeremy, who he had met through mutual friend Mike, and somehow the fact that the band had no singer was revealed. Jeremy said "I can sort of sing" and happened to have an old recording. John and Jonathan checked it out and thought it was pretty good so they asked if he would want to sing for the band. Jeremy tried out and made it..... After a few months and a few local shows throughout 2000, the band decided to record and settled on Stall ..2 in Redondo Beach, CA with Darian Rundall. After recording, the band attempted a mini-tour of Western states, which was plagued by many van problems. However, still a great time. Shortly after returning home Jonathan and the band parted ways and Jeremy took over playing second guitar. Many more local shows..... Then, in 2002, the highlight - the band played the entire Warped Tour 2002 on the Punkrocks.net stage in exchange for being stage crew/slaves. It was the hardest thing any of us had ever done, but also the most fun. We met lots of really cool people, and got to hang in the general vicinity of some of our favorite bands. After playing Warped Tour things slowed down as everyone returned to normal life. Crystal went off to college in San Francsico and it was decided that would probably not work too well. Unfortunately, the band only played 2 shows after returning from Warped Tour. We have never officially broken up, but the last show we played was March 7, 2003. There were even some practices later, but everyone just got too busy with their real lives. There has been talk of a farewell/reunion show, but only time will tell if that will happen (and if anyone would show up)..... If you are interested, our CD "The Road Ahead" can still be purchased at ..Interpunk.. for only $7.25. -
