TanTowel® was incorporated in 1998 by Australian-born Lori Braun, the president and owner of Tan Towel®. Lori's dream to create the ultimate self-tanning product came true with her creation of the patented process of the tan towel which she started researching in her home town of Melbourne, in 1997. Lori's desire to produce a product that would provide a healthy, natural looking glow that was simple to apply, odorless, no mess, and would not streak, brought her to the United States where she was able to achieve all of the product standards and quality that she demanded.
With continued advancement, the ever-growing Tan Towel® business has seen and will continue to see the same care and quality of products being added to our line. Lori..s vision has not only exceeded expectations for herself and millions of customers all over the world, but has helped in the education of the sun damage that leads to skin cancer.
In March 2008, we celebrated our 10-year anniversary. To go along with that celebration, we have redesigned our packaging. We have the same great formula, with a brand new look.

Each year more than a million people in the United States are diagnosed with the most common forms of skin cancer: basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma. These two diseases are most often grouped as non-melanoma skin cancers.
The American Cancer Society estimates that about 1.3 million new cases of non-melanoma skin cancers will be diagnosed in the United States this year, making these two combined the most common cancer in the United States.
Most people who are diagnosed with non-melanoma skin cancers are age 50 or older, but because these diseases often are a result of too much exposure to the sun, everyone -- even the youngest toddlers -- should take precautions against them.
