I was totally influenced by such random artists that is almost impossible to list my favorites. I can definitely say Waylon, Ray Charles, Hank Sr., Bocephus, Aerosmith, Mellencamp, Elvis, The Crue, G&R, The Stones, Pat Benatar, Heart, The Judds, Keith Whitley, Jerry Lee,Cash, Journey,Skynyrd,Dolly, Dwight, Patsy and Willie. These days I like anything that rocks like Nickleback, Sheryl Crow, and Keith Urban.
I really appreciate all styles of music. I learned from classical, but was raised down in Mississippi on everything. Mississippi tends to be the melting pot of country, blues and gospel. If I had to pick an absolute favorite of anything, it would have to be the music of Elvis. I have always been fascinated by his talent. I loved how he was able to sing any style of music and could grab the total attention of his listeners. I absolutely get chills everytime I hear him sing the "Trilogy".
