Au cours de bientôt 22 ans de carrière, Tanya St Val a abordé avec bonheur une large palette de styles musicaux. Le zouk bien sûr qui lui a valu sa célébrité, depuis ses tournées africaines avec Expérience 7 et Zouk Machine (fin des années 80), jusqu'aux scènes mythiques du Zénith (Juin 2000) et de l'Olympia (Décembre 2002).

Mais la gamine de Basse-Terre a aussi fait résonner son inimitable timbre de voix aux côtés du plus célèbre des rockers français : Johnny Halliday (1994), des figures de proues du rap : Passi, Doc Gynéco, Neg Marrons, de la nouvelle vague de la musique guadeloupéenne : Akiyo, Dominique Coco et du Compa : Magnum Band et Alan Cavé. Sans oublier la biguine avec Malavoi et ses deux passions: le Gospel et le blues, duos avec Francis Cabrel, Michael Jones, Paul Person et Patrick Verbaeck sur le concept "Autour du blues".

Avec déjà près d'une douzaine d'albums enregistrés, sans compter ses nombreuses apparitions aux côtés d'autres artistes, et des concerts un peu partout à travers le monde, Tanya fait figure de monstre sacré, au panthéon de la musique caribéenne.

Mais sa foi l'aide à conserver la simplicité et l'humilité qui font, aussi, son charme

Throughout her career spanning almost 22 years, Tanya St Val has joyfully experimented with a wide variety of musical styles. Zouk, of course, has earned her fame, from her African tours with Expérience 7 and Zouk Machine (in the late 80s) to the legendary stages of the Zénith (June 2000) and l’Olympia (December 2002).

But the girl from Basse-Terre has also sung, in her inimitable style, beside the most famous of French rockers, Johnny Halliday (1994); rap artists: Passi, Doc Gynéco, Neg Marrons; the new wave of Guadeloupean music: Akiyo and Dominique Coco; and Compas: Magnum Band and Alan Cavé. Not to mention, Biguine with Malavoi and her two passions, Gospel and Blues, duos with Francis Cabrel, Michael Jones, Paul Person and Patrick Verbaeck on the concept “Autour du Blues.”

With nearly a dozen albums recorded, not including her numerous collaborations with other artists and concerts around the world, Tanya is considered as a Diva in the pantheon of Caribbean music.
