Bio
.. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. Tape Recorder Three first manifested in the summer of 2003; having been hired by a film student to record the soundtrack to an independent horror movie. The soundtrack was completed and approved, but, the film fell apart at the starting gate, and, so here ends our preface. In 2004 we aquainted ourselves with Elm City techno musician/fly by the pants DJ/studio head, Joseph Franco; and so embarked on a recording project that has thus far produced two E.P.s (one presently unreleased) and one L.P. Experimental, first and foreskin. Spiritually rooted in purist punk rock, and late 80's early 90's 'alternative' music. Psychopathology, Mysticism, and Mutation. Satire and surrealism. Comic books, and high literature. Tackled the gothic reggae, and the blues. Presently moving towards the heavy, spacious, and angular. We expect to have a new record out in the summer of 2008, and, at that time, we'll be playing select dates in RI, MA, and CT with 'Oops Goes Buddha', 'Chinese Pimp', and 'Enron Hubbard and the Easy Meters'. Also... look for our side project 'Spot On, Asswipe' ( The Sado Paranoid Ontological Theorists Of Nu-haven Assembling Sexy Semantic Weapons Inspiring Perplexity Everywhere'. ) REVIEWS: 'Vitruvian. A renaissance of early 90's withdrawn cool'- Alex Davis 'FREE-Magazine.co.uk' 'Amazing. Enlightening. The lyrics are worthy of being xeroxed and carried around in your wallet'- Todd Beamis 'Indie-Music.com' 'Informed as much by Syd Barret as by Bad Brains. Tape Recorder Three has a flair for surrealist landscapes where psychics and amphibians intertwine.'- Dave Lewis 'PLAY magazine' 'Intriguing.
