Indian classical meets Celtic folk and several shades between. Tapestries of Sound perform a wide repertoire of original and innovatively rearranged traditional music, blending Ragas, Middle Eastern microtones and European modes drawing on unconventional rhythms and a variety of languages. Brace yourself for a joyous and indulgent journey with the occasional venture into dark corners… Performances feature solo dance pieces with Indian and Flamenco influences by Jennifer White.

We're all on a wonderful high after performing at the National Folk Festival. Lots of crazy stories to tell (of Bollywoodified Grease songs, Morris dancers and evasive moves on the floor of the colonial ballroom.
Good news is that we are recording 'Unsung Yarns' as our first EP!
Not long now... but for the moment click on the pics section to see a few photos from our 'Unsung Yarns' gig in Canberra.
Mahesh and Tapestries of Sound will be performing on Sunday March 23 (arvo) and Monday March 24 (morn) at the National Folk Festival in Canberra over Easter!
This will be Tapestries of Sound's BIGGEST EVER GIG!
The title of our concert is 'Unsung Yarns'. It's an exciting project drawing on my (Mahesh's) penchant for casting new lenses on history and a passion for exploring the diverse music styles (and languages) that have traveled to this amazing country. Expect anything!
The National Folk Festival is a massively wonderful festival:
"For five days Exhibition Park in Canberra dresses up... Hundreds of the world's best musicians perform daily, in a non-stop flow of entertainment"(www. folkfestival. asn. au)
