"Halfway between Kate Bush and The Corrs is where you'll find Tara Blaise. ...pretty much anything here could be a single. And there aren't many albums you can say that about" The Sunday Times
"Whether evoking joy or disappointment, she sounds like a woman who has lived a little" The Daily Telegraph
"A warm and honest record, lit by a genuine sense of personal adventure, and delivered with feelling and panache in equal measure." Hot Press
"One of the hottest young songwriters in the Emerald Isle and should prove as much when she makes her major British debut at next month's V Festival. This promising debut finds her sounding like a one-woman Corrs on a new single The Three Degrees, like Tori Amos on Superman In A Bottle, and a Celtic Kate Bush on the sweeping, orchestral Fool For Love" The Daily Mail
"The Entire album from start to finish is nothing short of brilliant" Irish Post
"Reminds us of the early Corrs sound at their catchy best. We see no reason why Tara shouldn't reproduce the kind of success the Corrs achieved." Hit Sheet
"Impressive finnesse ... a vocalist to be reckoned with. Gloriously warm and real, with a winningly addictive chorus. Seductive and charming."Hot Press
TARA BLAISE grew up in the rambling hills near Aughrim, County Wicklow, Ireland.
Tara formed Les Legumes at 16 then went professional as a backing singer with The Wilde Oscars and Igloo, followed by Kaydee, signed to EMI. When Kaydee broke up, a mutual friend hooked her up with Corrs manager John Hughes, who was looking for a vocalist to feature on his solo album 'Wild Ocean', released in 2004 by 14th Floor / Warner UK.
Tara contributed lyrics and vocals to two songs on 'Wild Ocean'. She also graduated from Dublin's Gaiety School of Acting in 2003.
Struck by her individual approach to melody and lyric writing, John Hughes offered her an album deal on his own Spokes label, and straight away sent her to Los Angeles to work with producer Olle Romo (Eurythmics, Bryan Adams, Shania Twain, The Corrs).
The album Dancing On Tables Barefoot was completed at the end of 2004, and straight away a single was presented to radio. BBC Radio 2 playlisted Fool For Love, a moving ballad of lost love featuring solely Tara's voice and a string quartet, and she had arrived.
A large amount of work followed, including photo shoots, rehearsals, regional promotion, and Tara's first live shows.
First exposed live on radio with just a cellist and acoustic guitar, Tara has quickly concentrated her energies on performing, and was able to debut a full rock lineup at the legendary Isle Of Wight festival in June.
Meanwhile the second single Paperback Cliche was again playlisted on Radio 2 in the UK, but was even more of a smash in Ireland, where it has received more than 2,000 plays. Paperback Cliche has been sitting at No. 2 in the airplay chart, behind U2.
Tara is busy putting the finishing touches to her new album 'Great Escape' and has just released the single 'Breathe' from the album.
