Tara Hack is a 21 year old native New Yorker. This up and coming singer-songwriter has been attracting international attention with her voice and moving lyrics. She is commanding audiences across the country to hear what she has to say. Tara has impressive accomplishments under her belt already and big dreams for the future. Growing up in a small town in Long Island, New York, she constantly surrounded herself with music. As her passion developed so too did her voice, guitar skills, and collections of self-written songs. Determined to get her music and voice out there, she began performing at Penn Station in NYC for thousands of commuters coming and going each day. As her fan base grew so did her possibilities. At 16 she began working with producers Joe and Jack Napoli of Cloud 9 Recording, finally releasing her debut album, "See You Soon" in April 2008. The CD continues to be hugely successful receiving thousands of plays online, as well as availability and sales in Penn Station, on I-Tunes, and record stores throughout the Northeast.
Her latest music project was her notable collaboration with Joe and Jack Napoli on "Saya Tidak Bersalah" (Im Not Guilty). The song tells the story of Schapelle Corby, an Australian woman who was framed and wrongfully imprisoned in Bali, Indonesia. When asked in an interview why she an American, cared so much about Schapelle, an Australian woman whom she has never met, Ms Hack poignantly responded,"I am a human before I am an American," a quote very telling of her character. Tara has joined an international human rights movement aimed to free Schapelle. Tara's song has fired the movement and spread awareness of Schapelle's plight. Tara Hack and this new single were featured as a front page story in the Sydney Morning Herald which stated, "New York-based singer-songwriter Tara Hack has attracted rave reviews and 1000 hits on You Tube after releasing her track earlier this month." There have also been features on her project in the Brisbane Times. On radio Tara has done multiple interviews in Sydney Australia including 2GB radio out of Sydney, hosted by Reverend Bill Crews, as well as "The World On Fire" Radio Northern beaches 88.7 & 90.3 FM, hosted by radio personality Richard Duncan. Duncan said of our young Tara "I believe she will take the world by storm, by combination of her beautiful voice and musical talent...She has a beautiful heart.
In the USA Tara has been on the radio in New York City for the Joey Reynolds Show on 710AM WOR radio and has been asked to be a featured guest on the show again.
Her growing critical acclaim recently brought her to the Conference Of World Affairs at the University of Colorado. Conference duties included performing, and speaking to University students and panelist, including well- known and highly respected Australian author Kay Danes.
Tara is continuing to travel, perform, and spread the story of Schapelle Corby. Tara has been described by TOP-40-charts.com music website as a "highly acclaimed Indy-pop artist." With numerous bookings, and massive followings Tara Hack is a musical force from which there is only more to come.

I pasted a little info about the actual conference in Boulder April 6-10, where we are setting up a table and trying to rally support for Schapelle. Musically, Boulder seems like a town where you would easily find an audience, based at least on the music I have listened to from this page. It's a good music town here. Eclectic, acoustic-oriented rock is popular. Dave Matthews, for instance, is huge here. There's a lot of venues. As I mentioned there will be a lot of people here from all over the world that week, a good audience and a great potential source of support for Schapelle. I think it would be fantastic to have you here, as a musician and as a Schapelle supporter!
Take care, Michael Passe mp4schapelle@gmail.com
P.S. I don't know why I'm in there twice on the postings!
(Info on CWA): The Sixty-first Annual Conference on World Affairs University of Colorado at Boulder April 6 –10, 2009
The Conference on World Affairs, originally founded in 1948 as a forum on international affairs, expanded rapidly in its early years to encompass the arts, media, science, diplomacy, technology, environment, spirituality, politics, business, medicine, human rights, and so on. Roger Ebert, who has participated in the CWA for thirty-eight consecutive years, refers to the CWA as “the Conference on Everything Conceivable.”
Each April 110 participants representing a wide range of backgrounds gather in Boulder for what The New York Times calls “a week-long extravaganza of discussion and debate” on over 200 panels, plenaries and performances. Conference participants discuss issues on an impromptu basis—a refreshing alternative to the specialized gatherings of academia and the business world. Molly Ivins, a frequent participant over 25 years, wrote that CWA offers “whole new ways of looking at old questions and information that can transform the way you look at things.” All events are free and open to the public.
Tara if you are in Colorado in April we are having a major effort to spread the word about Schapelle at the Conference on World Affairs. We have Kay Danes coming out as a panelist from Australia and a major information table, and also a newsletter (I put something about your song on the front page of it - I'd love any updates to put in there!). 80,000 people are expected to attend and we want them all to know about Schapelle's plight. I'm still as heartbroken about her as I was a year ago when I saw "Ganja Queen." Your song must have lifted her spirits... right on Tara! My site is http://sites. google. com/site/yougotmichaelnow/free-schapelle.

TARA. THIS IS THE STORY. I had just written this huge message on your facebook wall. And it went a little something like this:
"Taraaaaaaaaa. This is Trishhhhhhhhhhhhhh. I'm on Itunes! Looking at your songs! And souped! And rocking out to Over and Over! Yet to my dismay, it's only about 25 seconds that i'm listening to over and over (PUN INTENDEDDDDD). WHYYYYYY have you never played this song for me before? We're team t-t-t-t-touch me OK. I would like to hear the full version of this song ASAP. The snippet on Itunes just isn't enoughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. legit."
And then I decided to post it on your myspace instead of facebook. AND THEN I REALIZED THAT THE FULL SONG IS RIGHT HERE. Basically, I am excited, if you couldn't tell.
