Tara Solheim creates diverse vocal performances. She has performed in many contexts throughout Canada, America, England and Japan. Raised on the Canadian prairies, Tara studied music from a young age. She integrates her own original poetry and unique musical style. In Canada, she organized, hosted and performed at many Spoken Word poetry events. Her work has been aired on CBC, Canada's national radio station. In 2004 and 2005, she developed and hosted a series called the Seldom Sessions, bringing live jazz musicians together with poets in the context of an art gallery. After moving to Tokyo in 2005, Tara began to focus her energy on music. She performs regularly in live houses, clubs and restaurants around Tokyo. Her sound resonates jazz, blues and rock with a personal touch of genuine funk. Tara’s lyrics and music are haunted by melodies of wind, earth and sky.
