I see something in people. I see something in their families. It is the same something that I want to capture in my own family, in my own children. I strive to capture it for you too.
Photography is more than my job, it is my goose-bumps-tears-jump up-and-down-on-my-bed-passion. I have an eye for family photography that goes way beyond the traditional white shirts and jeans. I am not out to create the "flawless traditional portrait". Life isn't flawless. I am looking to capture your life. Leave the perfect hair and  clothes at home. I would prefer to see you just as you are—beautiful! Show up in your favorite jeans and tousled hair, your child with a lollipop-stained mouth. Relax. Have fun. Be real. Be alive. Be in love, and loving each other. Perfectly imperfect.
My work has been described as contemporary and hip. I think of it as quirky, emotional, and happy. I am a young mother of four and I have been photographing the big and little people in my life for the last seven years.
When we meet, show up with your heart. I can't wait to meet it.
Please direct any interest emails through my website, or tara@tarawhitney.com. thank you!
Who I'd like to meet: anyone who likes to make me laugh and can forgive my short moments of insanity.
Hope school is going well with you and your kids! can't believe the little one is already in kindergarten, as is mine this year. Where does the time go?
Hi Tara! David and I received the photos....OMG!!! We love them, and cannot wait to proudly hang them in our home. THANK YOU so much!!! Love and Hugs....Jen :)
It was a lot of fun. I learned a lot, but I was just happy to get outta dodge for a few days... I'll be focusing more on Fine Art photos in the near future - I've got a booth at ArtWalk08. Very cool.
Hello Miss Tara. I was at the Secret Workshop last weekend and when we were told that we would have a special guest (besides Jinky, which we already knew) the whole table of ladies I was sitting with couldn't stop gushing and hoping it was you (since they knew you lived close). None of them had ever met you. Needless to say, they were crushed. Tara Groupies. Thought you'd get a kick out of it.
