Wexford based rock and roll band Tarrintino formed two years ago and have not stopped writing, recording and touring since. The lads live, eat and breathe music, and describe their sound as “a mass of contradictions. We’re a classic, modern, energetic, passionate mix of grunge and indie mixed with a big chunk of the rock and roll that seems to be missing from the music scene today”. This innovative four piece provide a slice of alternative American style rock, combined with time honoured Irish rhythms and a whole lot of classic rock and roll.
Tarrintino love what they do and have been delighted with the response everywhere they go, especially in the last year. Their debut single "The Only One" is now in its second print, after the original 3000 prints sold out in weeks. Copies of the original print can now only be found for a high price on eBay. “The Only One” is played daily on Beat 102-103 as well as South East Radio and is on the play list of many other stations all around Ireland, and their second single “Gotta Get Out Of Here” is proving just as popular. With an album also under their belts waiting to be released, as well an ever growing live set, the band are sure to keep their ever increasing fan base satisfied for a long time to come.
Tarrintino have achieved a lot and in the last two years of touring and have gained a very loyal nationwide fan base. Tarrintino have so far notched up support slots with 'The Levellers', 'Paddy Casey', ‘The Blizzards’ , ‘Director’, 'Hybrasil' and 'Delorentos' and have gained a notable following in many venues across Ireland. Tarrintino are passionate about their live shows, as singer Noel says, they involve “A lot of passion, energy and rocking out. We throw ourselves into our shows because it’s the best chance we have to meet people and make an impression. At the end of the day its what we do, it’s a great night out of friendly rock and roll for all the family”.
In addition to this busy schedule of gigging across Ireland, the boys also managed to squeeze in a much sought after live session with Ian Wilson, producer of 'The Dave Fanning Show' which aired on Dan Hegartys 2FM night time show.
Tarrintino’s original, lively and enthusiastic live performances have earned the band considerable success. Tarrintino were recently described as "An amazing live band and one to keep an eye on" by Hotpress magazine and during a recent mini tour of Wales they were hailed as "The best thing to come out of Ireland since Guinness!" In 2007 Tarrintino won both The Bailey Music Challenge and the Heineken Band Showcase in McHugh’s of Drogheda receiving high praise from Jackie Hayden and Johnny Lappin.
2008 is set to see Tarrintino going from strength to strength. The lads got the year off to a fantastic start by winning the Irish Finals of the International Bodog Battle of the Bands. Tarrintino competed in, and won, five rounds to get to the final ten in Ireland, which they went on to win.
As for the fans back in Ireland, well the boys have plans to release their long awaited album, and to carry out their own headlining tour in Ireland. The boys truly appreciate their fans at home, as singer Noel says “Our fans are brilliant, especially the ones who follow us around different shows on tour. The support we receive from our fans is fantastic, it keeps us going, they are our energy, and our reason to believe”.

i everythings grand,festival over last weekend,aslan were playin the street then played in a local bar with a local band,was some nite,gourge murphy was playin 2,r yas playin in whelans at all???
