MORE TO COME!
UPDATES TO THE SUMMIT COUNTY SONGWRITERS STAGE...
PLUS ALL OF MONDAYS MUSIC!

..

WE ARE NOT YET BOOKING BANDS FOR 2011. WE WILL NOT MAKE FINAL DECISIONS UNTIL NEXT MAY OR EARLY JUNE. IF YOU WRITE TO US, YOU SHOULD GET A REPLY ACKNOWLEDING YOUR INTEREST, SO IF WE DON'T REPLY WITHIN TWO WEEKS, PLEASE WRITE AGAIN. BUT AFTER YOU GET OUR FIRST REPLY, PLEASE DO NOT KEEP CONTACTING US OVER AND OVER TO ASK IF YOU'RE IN UNTIL THE MIDDLE OF MAY! IF SOMETHING ABOUT YOUR ACT OR AVAILABILITY CHANGES, PLEASE WRITE TO US AGAIN.

If for some reason we've messed up and haven't gotten back to you yet, please accept our appologies. We are volunteers and all our coworkers and staff are volunteer. If you contacted us and haven't heard back WRITE TO US AGAIN AT matthewlerner @ yahoo.com with a cc: to bobliskie @ yahoo.com (remove the blank spaces on each side of @).

Speaking of volunteers, we can use your help, musical or otherwise. Non-performing volunteers are needed, too!

For 2011 we will probably have 5 to 7. plus an almost-open mic area.

TO GET BOOKED AT
TASTE OF HUDSON :

It is very important that your act be "family friendly". We also try to book acts that appeal to people of all ages, though we will vary from this for a few acts. We try to have a mix of styles and give preference to bands with a "Hudson" connection, but we also hire quite a few non-Hudson groups.

The Taste of Hudson is a charity event, so we DON'T pay much, but we do pay a little. Most adult acts get about $25-50 person for a 60-120 minute slot, and teens get about $10-20. We know that's not enought to make a living, but we hope the exposure is good for you. Also, you can keep everything you make from CD or merchandise sales. We will consider your band if you require more, but only a few bands will get more than that. If you require more, please state so in your email, or we will assume that these rates are acceptable.

If you have performed here just once before, there is a good chance you will invite you back, but we also want to add new acts to keep the festival fresh and also we try to give some more people an opportunity.

The best way to apply is to send us a link to your website with a few songs and pictures on it. We DON'T like to have a lot paper and CDs/DVDs sent to us. If it is not in our computer, we probably will lose all your info. If you don't have a website, send us a few MP3s, photos, or videos by email, or set up a myspace site for your music and upload a few songs and a few pictures. Then become our "myspace friend" and write to us about your band/music. IT IS BEST TO CONTACT US ON REGULAR EMAIL, NOT MYSPACE email. Our emails are matthewlernerATyahoo.com and bobliskieATyahoo.com (remove the "AT" and replace with an @). IF YOU WRITE TO US ON MYSPACE, YOU MIGHT NOT GET A REPLY IN TIME FOR US TO BOOK YOU.

As we said, we are all volunteers. The easier you are to work with, the more likely you will get booked!

You will need to tell us if there are any times on SUNDAY or MONDAY that you CAN NOT play, and also if you have any preferences about when you can play. We will try to accomodate your preferences, but we are usually juggling about 100 acts, so obviously, the easier you are to schedule, the more likely you will get booked.

In almost all cases, we will provide a professional sound system and an engineer.

We go on RAIN OR SHINE! UNTIL THE CONTRACT IS SIGNED, WE CAN NOT PROMISE YOU A SPOT.

You can visit our official website at www.tasteofhudson.com but don't try to contact us through there or myspace, it will only slow you down... contact us at through regular email: Our emails are matthewlernerATyahoo.com and bobliskieATyahoo.com (remove the "AT" and replace with an @).

Below is the lineup from the 2010 Taste of Hudson. Even though the pay is bad, EVERYBODY has fun and wants to come back... We know we will cut a few and add a few, but you can see the competition is pretty rough, so again, the EASIER YOU ARE TO WORK WITH, THE BETTER YOUR CHANCES OF BEING BOOKED!

Who I'd like to meet:

Bands, musicians, and other entertainers and MUSICAL WORKSHOP LEADERS interested in performing at the next Taste of Hudson. Also, anyone interested in volunteering this year or next year.

Alphabetical listing and links to bands and performers who were at the 2009 Taste of Hudson (my appologies if I didn't get around to making your section look better or have active links... it's that volunteer thing again!):

Tofu Fighters
Guitar driven classic Rock-n-Roll plus originals - www....com/tofufighters

The Tofu Fighters, named for the members' clean living and common backgrounds with health food stores in the area, play good old guitar-driven Rock n' Roll that'll make you get up and dance! They play the classic favorites from the 60's to the present and a great mix of originals. The Tofu Fighters are a six member band that will fire off a modern rock favorite, follow it with a Beatles tune, then play one of their originals, play a jam band dance song, and go directly into a Dylan masterpiece.
