My Video I made as a tribute to Weird Al's Band, I have met them 2 times thanks to Jim "Kemo" West and they are all really great guys and fantastic musicians :)
The real story of Tex Hardcore. Comedian and musician Ted Burris started writing crazy country songs quite a while before this project. Sooner or later he knew he had to record them. After years of playing music for many local groups and some pretty big names in oldies entertainment, he started recording his own music. there are now 4 albums to his credit.
The first solo album in 1972 was "The Tasty Tunes Band". An album with some of his close musician friends recorded on a 4 track Teac recorder.
The second in 1980 was not a music album at all, but insted an album filled with comedy recordings by Ted, friend Ron and at the time his wife Tina called "The Goose Brothers go Commercial".
In 1995 Ted released another rock album called "Songs From The Rocker" with his life long friend Richard Allen on drums and backing vocals, and Ted doing the rest. Again a 4 track anilog tape machine was used for overdubs.
Album 4 in 2006 was a compilation of Ted's favorite rythum and blues music with the wonderful Stacey Peckins on back-up and lead vocals. In the advent of the computer generation, the whole back-up band was programmed by Ted on a program called Cake Walk. Then live guitar tracks and the vocals from Stacey and Ted where added. The album was called "Nobody Sings The Blues", but it was almost called "Computer Blues". This included 6 original blues songs by Ted.
This new album called "Simple Songs From A Simple Mind" was made for three reasons;
1) Ted wanted to record the crazy country music he was writing.
2) he wanted to make an album where he played every insterment on real insterments (including Guitar, Bass, Drums, All Vocals) and
3) it is Ted's Debute on Piano and Mandolin!
The whole album is a toung in cheek stab at country music from the perspective of Ray Stephins on crack. Developing the chariactor of "Tex Hardcore" and tagging on "the Cowpokers" it just sounds funny. So, Sit back, put your mind on the shelf, and have a darn good laugh on us. LOL.
Quotes from BIG CELEBRITIES about Tex Hardcore!

"I really enjoyed it MUCHO. You are a talented songwriter and a very funny guy. Keep it up and maybe one day we will play together."
Haha that would be great! We all miss you and your awesome impersonations. I remember how we would take the cover of "Guess Who" and i would point to one of the people and you would make up a voice for them. Lol, good times.

Ever wondered what to do in the event of a nuclear threat?
A while ago I found stuff that inspired me to make this film:

Both artistic (ensure you get the background music!) and educational, it primarily comprises official British government civil defence advice.
Though source materials are quite aged, much remains relevant today.
