Tatiana died 25 Dec-2007, at the hands of the San Francisco Police Department, when she escaped from her enclosure. (Tatiana was provoked!!) She was only acting in her defense against three punks that night. Alcohol and marijuana was found in the boys blood system after the attack. Also a bloody sign was found inside Tatiana's enclosure. Why didn't Tatiana try to get out of her enclosure before? Why was that day so special? I really feel that, Tatiana is the true victim here. The truth is now coming clear for all of us to see. It’s sad that an alcohol / marijuana influence person died and others were injured that night, but since, the tiger was provoked and abused by their hands, well.... "they got what they deserved!". I agree, that Tatiana should not have been able to escaped from her enclosure at the zoo, but how high does a wall have to be? When will the animals ever have a voice?
We expect wild animals to live by our rules, in a cage knowing this can never be. The deep desire to be free is in all of us. Even if she was caught and put back into her enclosure, I think there might have been a cry to put her down anyway. Even for a brief moment if she felt free, makes me feel happy inside. For the last minutes of her life she knew, what it felt to have freedom.

Siberian (or Amur) tigers are the world's largest cats. They live primarily in eastern Russia's birch forests, though some exist in China and North Korea. There are an estimated 400 to 500 Siberian tigers living in the wild, and recent studies suggest that these numbers are stable. Though their northern climate is far harsher than those of other tigers, these animals have some advantages. Northern forests offer the lowest human density of any tiger habitat, and the most complete ecosystem. The vast woodlands also allow tigers far more room to roam, as Russia's timber industry is currently less extensive than that of many other countries.
Tigers are the largest of all wild cats and are renowned for their power and strength. There were once eight tiger subspecies, but three became extinct during the 20th century. Over the last 100 years, hunting and forest destruction have reduced overall tiger populations from hundreds of thousands to perhaps 5,000 to 7,000. Tigers are hunted as trophies and also for body parts that are used in traditional Chinese medicine. All five remaining tiger subspecies are endangered, and many protection programs are in place. Poaching is a reduced—but still very significant—threat to Siberian tigers.
Tigers live alone and aggressively scent-mark large territories to keep their rivals away. They are powerful hunters that travel many miles to find prey, such as elk and wild boar, on nocturnal hunts. Tigers use their distinctive coats as camouflage (no two have exactly the same stripes) and hunt by stealth. They lie in wait and creep close enough to attack their victims with a quick spring and a fatal pounce. A hungry tiger can eat as much as 60 pounds (27.2 kilograms) in one night, though they usually eat less.

I appreciate my friends so much!! We've had VBS all week @ church and the kids have enjoyed it...tom. night we parents get to go and see them get their certificates and watch them sing..and who knows what else...lol. That should be fun. Saturday Jacob has a tournament game and then I'm pretty much free..hopefully I'll be able to come home and relax, but I know how that goes! Well, I hope you have a blessed day tomorrow and enjoy your weekend! Take care! May God richly bless yoU! Luv & Hugs, ~Carrie~
Hey there~ How's it going?? I hope your weekend has been good...mine hasn't been the best, but I guess it could be worse. Jacob's sunburn WAS getting better he's peeling, but there are some areas all across the top of his back and his shoulders where the blisters were, that is cracked, dry, and hard skin.Almost like a scab. Putting the Aloe Vera gel on he said is making it sting...should I be using something else?? He cried himself to sleep last night. I gave him some Advil so he could rest. Today makes a week since he's had the sunburn, hard to believe it's taking this long to heal..I guess it's b/c of how severe it was. We went to a movie yest. w/a friend and her kids and just from being out in the heat here just to go in/out of car and theater, he was hurting. Anyway, sorry for rambling on about it, just feel so bad for him. He said, "Mom I asked Jesus to make it stop hurting!"...poor baby! Please pray Jesus will touch him and speed up this healing process. Hope you have a blessed Sunday, Wasn't able to make it to church him hurting so much. Take care and keep in touch! You bless me! Much Luv & Big Hugs, ~Carrie~
Please remember all of the soldiers past and present that have served to protect this great country. AND the families they have had to leave behind to do so. Sometimes their kiss goodbye was their last. Love Debb
