Simple. Aloof. Clarivoyant. None of these words describe Travis Atkinson. But there are other words that do. Words like "tall", "white", and "big-boned." But words alone cannot contain this man. Only the atmospheric confines keep him from taking off into an elliptical orbit around the earth and becoming the Second Moon, a moon that sings, laughs, dances, plays basketball, guitar, and Dr. Mario, but most importantly, keeps it awfully, awfully real.
Travis' eclectic style will stimulate most of your mental musical sensory organs. From the hip-hop song "Blackout" to soulful, intimate tunes like "Nothing Better" and "Who Knew", from folk ballads like "Louisiana" and "Heart of My Heart" to the more satirical "Cardinal Rule", Travis will keep a smile on your face, a warm fireplace log burning in your heart, and an anticipatory question mark in your head.
In November 2009, Travis came out with his first solo album, Reverse Commute, a folk-infused compilation of songs he wrote during his years in Chicago. He is now playing regularly around the West Michigan area.
