Now that I’ve been clicking around MySpace for over a year now and I’m no longer a “newbie” to the scene, I can truly say that my respect and appreciation for this social infrastructure have grown. This very complex system has a veil of user-friendliness that enables us to connect and network with greater ease. If this isn’t your first time to my page, then you know that I am constantly encouraging my staff to come up with fresh, creative ideas to make my page more interactive so that I can truly connect with everybody. With that said, please be on the lookout for a few dynamic profile changes that are on the horizon. Whatever changes may come, you can rest assured that they will be made in accordance with our main objective: to enlighten, encourage, and empower…each other! After all, we must work tirelessly to edify one another while we aim the guns of accountability at the decision makers that have navigated the course of our nation thus far. If we are to change our course for the better to avoid economic collapse and environmental calamity, then it is our duty to hold accountable . Well, you are probably already aware of my stance on civic duty and accountability, so I’d like to shift gears and once again share a bit of personal information so that we can communicate on a deeper level. I’m now in my 40s and more focused than ever before. I am a hard worker and I have so many projects going on that sometimes I tend to get lost in them. When the time comes, I do want to settle down, but I am trying to do my small part to change the world, and I need a little more time! I travel almost every weekend, giving speeches, participating in forums, and doing work with my Foundation for young people. I may throw in a vacation every now and then. I work out daily and try to eat healthy. I love to run...great stress reliever…and I’m not too shabby at basketball either! I play Scrabble a lot. I love music (from Jill Scott to Talib Kweli to John Coltrane), and I enjoy live performances. I am passionate about learning, about expanding my outlook on life, and about humbly spreading my knowledge around to as many folks as possible. That’s me in a fortune cookie, and as much as I talk, I wish I had more to say. I look forward to dialoguing with as many of you as possible. Your comments of encouragement and personal messages of empowerment refuel me daily. Although I can’t respond to every comment or message, I receive them all with warmth and genuine interest.
