About me: The TAWNY OWLS
are a French Lyon-based Wild Rockabilly band.
They were formed in 1995 with:
Michel- lead vocal (formerly with TOMBSTONE );
Hervé - lead guitar and
Yann- upright bass (both formerly with STOMPIN' SHOES and also BONNEVILLE BARONS - GB ) and Eric, Hervé’s brother, on drums (JOHN GUSTER & The RHYTHM KINGS - CH; PETE & THE STARPHONICS - F).
They readily admit being influenced by Eddie COCHRAN, Elvis PRESLEY, Ray HARRIS, Gene MALTAIS, and their act is made up from the legendary SUN STUDIO tracks as well as more obscure from-the-vault killers.
This makes an authentic, dedicated mind-blowing act, in the tradition of 50’s wild spirit and juvenile restlessness, roaming bars throughout France and Europe (Germany, Switzerland Italy and Spain).
