taxon is the musical sketchpad of daniel pollard. typically a musical idea is conceived by daniel while walking home. once home, daniel will pick up his guitar or sit at his piano and work the idea just far enough that it captures the idea but not so far that one would really call it a song. daniel then pulls out his laptop and records the idea using apple's garageband software. after the mix is complete, the mp3 is uploaded to myspace and will perhaps inspire future development. the indie pop collective, spouse, fronted by the amazing josé ayerve, has developed some of daniel's taxon sketches. perhaps there will be a taxon album someday. let us know if you like anything you hear.

Life is good at Ashmont, except around this time of year, when they put a hat on me and think it’s funny. I suppose it’s a small price to pay for food in my belly and a roof over my head.
