Taylor Farley, Jr. has been playing the 5-string banjo since the age of ten, after first hearing Earl Scruggs play "Foggy Mountain Breakdown" on the radio broadcast of the Grand Ole Opry. That was a long time ago down in Newport, Kentucky, and now he has blended his unique style of pickin' with almost every genre available.
Taylor has performed in concert with some of the most well-respected names in music; The Charlie Daniels Band, The Earl Scruggs Revue and Willie Nelson, just to name a few. He has performed at "A Taste of Chicago," Cincinnati's "Riverfest" and "Tall Stacks" events, as well as Stone Mountain Park near Atlanta and all the old country music clubs of Nashville. In 2000, he won the Cammy Award for "Best Folk/Bluegrass Instrumentalist".
He leads a five piece group known as Blue Rock, which combines Bluegrass, Classic Rock, Blues, Folk, Gospel, and just about anything else you can throw at them.

YOU GUYS ROCK! I saw you last night at FAT BOB'S in LEBANON! I love your style of music and how you can morph bluegrass, gospel, and classic rock all into one brilliant musical ball! You guys were hilarious also! It was a very fun evening and I look forward to seeing you again. I will spread the word about your band to everyone and the next time you are at FAT BOB'S, I will be sure to bring a crowd of people with me! Vickie, you were awesome and funny to talk to! I am the spanker! ha ha
Customers at Della's Stein (soon to be Cup & Saucer) Cafe NYE party loved Taylor Farley & Blue Rock! We heard comments like "Best band that's played here in years"..."That kid on guitar ain't no older than a minute but look at him go"..."I am liking the hell outa this band"..."I can't believe they played that!" Well, I can't believe they played that either! That big fella with the banjo and his Blue Rock band breathed new life into bluegrass standards like Rocky Top & Salty Dog, then they put a totally fresh twist on classics from Pink Floyd, Hendrix, Beatles, Stones, Skynyrd...even Herbie Hancock! We also like "The Great Big Woman (And The Little Bitty Bottle Of Wine)." Yup, this band is going on our jukebox and in our band rotation for 2007!
