I like to bake, not cook, there's a difference. Everybody knows it's all about dessert.
I love to spend time with my granddaughter. She's old enough to bake cookies now. That's one of my fondest memories of spending time with my grandmother.
I like to antique shop. That's about the only thing I like to shop for. It must be a genetic defect.
At one point, collecting monkeys became an obsession. I've loved monkeys since I was very little. I remember being very upset that my mom wouldn't get me a real chimpanzee for my birthday.
My favorite person to hang out with is my husband. He's a humble man with an awesome sense of humor. He can be deep, or geeky. He is my best friend. He has a heart the size of Texas and the patience of a saint. Can't get better than that. I'm curious about a lot of things. On my better days, I want to be adventurous and try new things. I don't make a bet unless I'm 95% sure I can win it. I love to laugh. I can make anything funny. My weird sense of humor has been a real life saver at times. I have rules around my sense of humor, though. No mean-spirited, destructive, or cruel jokes. I love a good practical joke. I don't have a problem laughing at myself.
Music
Just depends what mood I'm in. Country, New Age, Pop. Of course, the 70's is the best music of all time. Sorry..no rap.
Movies
Life as a House, Pay It Forward, An Unfinished Life, Fracture, Pursuit of Happyness, Guardian, Reign Over Me.
Television
Grey's Anatomy. Joan of Arcadia (when it was on). Not much of a TV hound.
Books
Disappearance of the Universe, Conversations with God, Dancing Healers, and so many more. I can't help it, I used to work in a book store.
Heroes
Heroes are just ordinary people setting their own fears aside to do the next right thing. We all have our moments.
About me:
Yorkie puppies are my passion! We had so much fun raising the new litter! These energetic, little fur angels keep our household lively. I went to great lengths to choose my breeding dogs. I talked to a lot of breeders, did my homework, and saw a lot of litters. I breed for size, coat, tempermant, and that classic yorkie face and gate. First and foremost, they are our family pets.
Let me introduce you to our fur angels. First there is "Ginger". She's the Queen of the House. She's tiny, but mighty. She's my "go everywhere" dog. Then there is Contessa of Harmony Forest, "Tess", 5 lbs.. She is the sweetest, cuddly mama dog. She keeps her cool and lives to cuddle. "Cricket", Creighton's Little Blast, 3 1/2 lbs. is a tiny bundle of energy that thinks he's a big dog. He's our papa dog. Last, but not least, is Hailey's Comet of Joy, "Hailey", 4 lbs. She loves to play with her toys. We look forward to her first litter next year.
I've made some mistakes over the years picking out puppies. This is what I've learned. All puppies are cute! It's SO important to be able to talk to the breeder, ask a lot of questions, and see the parents of your prospective new puppy. It's good to do a little research and be up to speed on what you need to ask. You don't get that opportunity at a pet store.
We hand raise all our new babies. No crates or hard, cement floors for these pampered pooches. They are quite spoiled and raised with tons of TLC. By the time they are placed in loving homes, they are well socialized, and on their way to being potty trained.
If you're in need of a special fur angel to add to your family, please contact me through myspace. Your new puppy will be a member of your family for a long time. It's important to us to help you find just the right fit. If we don't have what you're looking for right now, we'll be happy to put you on a waiting list.
All our yorkies are registered with America's Pet Registry, Inc. They will have tails docked, dew claws removed, first shots, and wormed.
Who I'd like to meet: There are some obvious people that interest me like Michael J. Fox, Oprah, Leonardo Dicaprio. But the most intersting people to me are everyday people, doing what they have to do to hold their families together and deal with whatever life has dealt them. I would really like to get to know people and not just "collect friends".
I figure we meet who we need to, to either offer them a gift or receive a gift from them.
Please be patient with me. This computer stuff doesn't come naturally to me. A matter of fact, it's been a great source of frustration. The only reason I started my own page was to show off the puppies.
But to my surprise, I've met other people that also have fibromyalgia. It's so good to meet new friends that really know what it's like. We can all use a little extra support every now and then. Fibromyalgia has been my curse and my blessing. I hope to give a little encouragement to those that are also adjusting to a life that they didn't plan for. Chronic illness changes your life in every aspect. Attitude is everything!!!
As like most people, we have our ups and downs, But I am very grateful for our simple life. I'm married to the love of my life and best friend.
I've found being a grandma is better than I could ever imagine. It doesn't make me feel old. It makes me feel alive. It's the simple things that mean the most.
Kansas has been my home forever. Yes, it is very flat in Kansas. But I love the slower pace of life. I would like to travel more. I love the Grand Canyon and the southwest.
I've been good....computer was down for a few days and I've also been so busy painting and getting ready for the 26th that I haven't had time to breath....lol Hope all is well with you!!
PARENTING NEVER CAME WITH INSTRUCTIONS, SO WE DO THE BEST WE CAN WITH WHAT WE HAVE. IT IS A PRIVLEGE TO BE A GRANDMA, AND THE JOY IS WE CAN GIVE THEM BACK IF WE NEED TO..
NEED A MOMENT OF ZEN? HERE THINK OF THIS WHEN IT GETS THE DARKEST AND KNOW THAT SOMEWHERE, SOMEPLACE, IT WILL BE OK..WE JUST HAVE TO REMEMBER TO SEE THRU THE DARKNESS TO THE SMALLEST RAY OF HOPE! HAVE A GREAT DAY! GENTLE HUGGS- ALISON
