The Taylor Festival Choir is a professional chamber choir, founded and conducted by Robert Taylor. Established in 2000 as the flagship ensemble for the Taylor Music Festival, the Taylor Festival Choir has rapidly garnered a reputation among choral specialists and critics as one of the nation's finest choral ensembles. Their second compact disc recording, This is Thy Hour, O Soul, was recently released on the Centaur label, and has been hailed by critic Lindsay Koob as "Fabulous...Tremendous."
The Taylor Festival Choir is inspired by the life and career of Bob Taylor, the conductor's late father and a noted choral conductor and pedagogue. Since its inception, the choir has been heard in prestigious venues and festivals throughout the US, including performances at state American Choral Directors Conventions, and on the Choral Artists Series in the renowned Piccolo Spoleto Festival. Though based in Charleston, S. C., the Taylor Festival Choir’s membership is drawn from several states, and is chosen via a rigorous audition and interview process.
The Taylor Festival Choir performs the finest choral literature from all eras, with particular emphasis on new music. Recent performances have featured the music of Eric Whitacre, Stephen Paulus, Julian Wachner, and Michael McGlynn, as well as commissioned works by Brian Galante, David Maves, Trevor Weston, and Karen Marrolli. Dedicated to bringing the beauty of choral music to as wide an audience as possible, the Taylor Festival Choir tours frequently as well as performing outreach concerts in schools and churches throughout South Carolina and surrounding states.
The Taylor Music Festival is under the Direction of Dr. Robert & Mary Taylor.

It's the way you play that makes it . . . Play like you play. Play like you think, and then you got it, if you're going to get it. And whatever you get, that's you, so that's your story. -- Count Basie
Thank you for adding me to your friends list and for your beautiful singing. I would like to invite you to listen to two of my choral music at my MySpace site, namely excerpts from EVERLASTING LIGHT (track 5) and THE TROPARION OF KASSIANI (track 6). Enjoy.
Hi Taylor Choir! I'm homesick for Charleston just looking at your profile. I'm sending out a packet of music to you today. I LOVE your Paulus recording.
