Born in East Orange, NJ to Wanda Ayres and Jessie Hawkins on July 18, 1977. T.A.Z. first moved to Texas when he was 4 years old then back to New Jersey to live with his father. He found his creative style for poetry in the 5th grade. He won a couple of poetry writing contests. Later as he got older he moved back to houston he teamed up with Z-Ro, Dougie D, and Trae and they became th Guerilla Maab. Around that time T.A.Z had 2yr old daughter and two more kids on the way so he left the groupso that he could work and support his kids.
