Tristen Smith was born in Wheeling, WV on August 19, 1992. He received a mini telecaster electric guitar at age 4. By age 11 he was performing regularly at local fairs and festivals. At age 11 Tristen won a local Colgate Country Showdown, and also began performing on WWVA's legendary Jamboree USA in Wheeling. At age 12, he won Jamboree USA's Star Quest competition and later that year, he became the youngest performer to take the main stage at Jamboree in the Hills, The Superbowl of Country Music, in Morristown, OH. In the winter/spring of 2008, at age 15, he completed his first cd project titled "My Kind Of Cool", that featured three original songs that played in rotation on radio stations in New York and Canada. Tristen has shared the stage with Brad Paisley and Neal McCoy. He has served as the opening act for many major country music artists including Hank Williams Jr., Brooks & Dunn, and The Charlie Daniels Band. Tristen was the touring lead guitarist for NBC's "America's Got Talent" 2009 winner, Kevin Skinner. Tristen is Belmont University's 2012 Country Showcase winner, earning the right to perform at the Mike Curb College of Entertainment and Music Business' Best of the Best Showcase. Tristen Smith exclusively plays Crook Custom Guitars with McVay String Benders.
